Good set of comments.

We are pretty much going to be fielding a third 11 and with the Kop not open I suspect Sunderland will have a better chance than they seem to realise.

Agreed! Sunderland have a very good chance of winning this as no way will it be our first 11. I'm going for:

Moore

K Freeman
Jags
Stearman
Bryan
Osbourne

Besic
Morrison
L Freeman

Clarke
Robinson

and the first 11 against Liverpool on Satdi:

Henderson

Baldock
Basham
Egan
JOC
Stevens

Norwood
Lunny
Fleck

Ollie
Mousse

UTMB !

If Sunderland can beat Burnley away. in a away im surprised they are a downbeat but then again they needed a 90min equaliser to not lose to Bolton. & again if we win tomorrow great if we don't im not that worried, as if im going to have 1 run a cup this season rather Fa cup more money & heritage

This is a potential banana skin that said it's not a good cup anyhow, we win, we win, Liverpool more important Saturday.

Indeed. All at the club are desperate for a Sunderland win so they should probably be considered favourites.

“I was just checking the Sheffield United FC website to see if they had any details on the date for our match next month in the League Cup and I noticed tkts are on sale to Blades fans for the home game against the bin dippers, and they start at 30,000+ loyalty points
How the hell do blades fans manage to build up that amount of points?”

It could be 30,000,000 points and it would still depend on: how many points per game and length the scheme has been running.

Some people aren't too bright.

The guy talking about the 0-0 draw in 95-96, was my first ever game at the Lane!

I know a few of there lot and they always come to BDTBL Sats or night marches gotta lot of time for them & sense of humour .. agree though it’s a potential banana skin .. if we play fringe squad and play how we did first half against Blackburn

"Was at a match there. Warnock was the manager
Got in late, left early and got beat 2 nil. they also played the professionals tv series theme tune after they scored. Magic night..”

That guy must really like The Professionals...

Who doesn't? Both the TV series and the completely unrelated Lee Marvin western of the same name.

Enjoyed those comments. Bonus point for remembering Colchester v Utd on Match of the Day. Have you got a cousin in Sunderland Silent Blade ?

I'm sure Silent Blade can fill in the details, but we got hammered 5-2 in what was otherwise a great (Div 4) season. I seem to recall us wearing an unusual colour combo that game? Solid colour shirts, not stripes?

It was actually a 90th minute penalty, although I realise they all count (it was nailed on mind). When Sunderland came to BDTBL on Boxing Day the year before last, they were absolutely woeful, have they improved in that time, it doesn't sound like it?

Anyone who hasn’t yet attended a night game this season can I advise you to wear a Baseball cap with long peak and / or dark glasses if you don’t want your retinas burned out by the new floodlights.

Norbert Colons started early today.

Yes, we wore Colchester's away kit (red shirts) because the ref deemed our striped shirts were too much of a clash with Colchester's stripes.

And as we were in Division 4, I think it was the only time we were on MOTD that season...

Why would I have a cousin in Sunderland?

There was a big Sunderland fan a year below me at my boarding school. He was a good footballer and I played in the same school football team as him in all the age groups from 1974 to 1979. His grandfather was a Sunderland director (I dont know his name) and Jim Montgomery lived across the road from him. One evening (in 1977, I think) Jim paid him a visit at the school. Word got around and many pupils got their autograph books out and Jim very obligingly signed every book in the school hall.

This Sunderland fan seems to have cut off ties from his schoolfriends and many in the year below me do not seem to have seen or heard of him since he left school.

“You get 100 points for every time you watch when Saturday comes”

Brilliant.
Has got me wondering, 'has Saturday come yet?' Or do we need to win the league or a cup or something?

They might top the Bolton fan shitting in our sink, they're the 'shit in your seat'ers.
