I doubt that there has been a more blinkered , misguided and downright inaccurate set of comments on Roy’s View than this lot have come up with and I have to say it took me by surprise .

Out of all the contenders for the most ridiculous , I would have to go for the one who describes Mayenda as a living god. Is this the Mayenda who in 49 Championship appearances for them has scored just 10 goals ,almost exactly a relatively feeble one in five?

As just one reference point , in the season 2018 / 19 ( I think) at the same level Leon Clark scored 19. goals in 39 matches,
almost exactly one in two yet I don’t remember any of us conferring deity status on good old Leon at the time .

Like every Blades fan , I had many good reasons for wanting us to beat them on Saturday but having read that set of comments I now have an extra one .

They sound very confident. Just one point I will make. Form in previous league meetings this season count for nothing. Bristol City looked better than us in both games against us but lost play offs 6 0. In 1997 , we did double over Palace and they beat us in final.

Sunderland fan here...
I think we are the slight under dogs, but this is a massive one off game in the championship playoff final. Anything can happen.
We are not the team we were at the beginning of the season, but we have some very talented young players and we have a couple of rapid players who can hurt teams on the break.

There are wankers in all groups of fans. Vlogs are much more focused and rational than forums. Most of theirs, like our fans, are sensible and thoroughly decent.

It's pretty simple really, and I'll echo what I've thought before every game this season (with the exception of Burnley and Leeds): if we play anything close to our best then we'll win.

I watched both legs of Sunderland vs Coventry. I thought Sunderland were very poor, and were very fortunate to get through. They sat so deep in both legs, basically shoving 11 men behind the ball and hoping Mayenda or Isidor did something on the counter-attack. Really negative and they looked tired and devoid of confidence. Not sure scraping a point at home against an average Coventry team is really going to revitalise them.

They are referencing the fact that they gave us two good games this season, but they were a long time ago and their form has fallen off a cliff since then. We finished 14 points ahead of them in the end, so I don't know how you can dispute the fact that we're a much better team than them. It's up to us to prove it on the day, that's all.
