Sorry, 1969.Newcastle won Inter City Fairs Cup in 1969 but I do agree with you.
It's been hard to read.1
Cheers Roy for your endeavours this season I suspect it may have been hard work for you.
Newcastle are by far the richest club in the world. It's a completely different scaleI understand you saying they are behind City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea. But to say they are less relevant than Newcastle is downright wrong. Newcastle have had one 4th place finish in the past 18-19 years. Tottenham was in the final of the Champions League 5 years ago. For all the comments Tottenham get for not winning a trophy since 2008, Newcastle haven't won a single major trophy since 1955.
Rich owners doesn't mean you a more relevant club. Stoke City have some of the richest owners in all of the world, but that doesn't mean they are more relevant than Tottenham. Tottenham generate more money than every single English club other than Man City, Man United, and Liverpool, and are overall 8th in the world for revenue generation.
Yes, that is true. But doesn't that make Tottenham's rise even more impressive? They have owners who have a comparatively small amount of money relative to their rivals, they routinely spend less money than the Big Six, and their scouting and ability to spot talents has been wonderful over the past decade or so. Newcastle will likely be bigger than Tottenham, and even clubs like Chelsea and Man United, but just not right now. Considering James Maddison could've picked Newcastle, but he chose Tottenham shows how Newcastle are viewed compared to Tottenham at the current moment.Newcastle are by far the richest club in the world. This isn't a reflection on short term performance. They've been consistent and in seasons where richer clubs have faltered They've done really well.Yes, that is true. All the money that Newcastle will have at their disposal will change football, you're right. Spurs are also a club of extreme riches with fans all around the world, particularly in Asia, which will always allow them to compete. This isn't a reflection on short term performance. They've been consistent and in seasons where richer clubs have faltered They've done really well.
But it's temporary. The new financial rules are going to see Newcastle etc spend double Spurs. The Saudi influence will be huge. Spurs are a 'normal' club. The others are not
I get what your saying , fair enough . My point / thoughts were about how bloody ungrateful they are for what the've got..LOL .. They could have been born in God's own county and top city.... then they would know about the real downs followed by a few bits of up now and then ...This isn't a reflection on short term performance. They've been consistent and in seasons where richer clubs have faltered They've done really well.

Spurs win 4-1 on Airports. This isn't a reflection on short term performance. They've been consistent and in seasons where richer clubs have faltered They've done really well.

Pretty sure the Saudis own at least one of themSpurs win 4-1 on Airports.
Cheers Roy, truly a labour of love this season. Your efforts are much appreciated.ONE TO GO

Every time I see people say we are worse than Derby it makes me wonder if they ever saw that Derby team. Not an easy read obviously. I know we've had a poor season but I still think the criticism is slightly harsh. There's been many teams who've got a similar points total to us over the years. The PL has got richer and richer in the last five years even more than before, and I think rather than be critical of us they should be looking at the current PL model they should ask whether something needs to change with the model rather than the fact we're crap.

We won'tBunch of entitled cunts. Hope we win in a scrappy 1-0
Can't really moan at any of those comments, and a lot of them had me chuckling.
That's not what "fans" do.Got to agree, hope all our fans go back to the pub at half time and let the 'players' do their lap of same in an empty stadium
