Nice that they are warm and favourable towards Billy, they obviously have fond memories of him playing for them. Wilder also started there as a trainee, but didn't play for their first team.

It is a "nothing to play for" game in many respects, but I don't think Chris will see it that way. It would be good if it's an open entertaining game with plenty of goals, but I'm expecting it to be a dull end of season affair. We might use the game to have more of a look at some fringe players though? Zivkovic full debut maybe? (or has he gone back to China already?)

No such thing as a dead rubber when every place is worth in the region of 2 million.Wilder will want to win this one like any game
 
I remember the feeling at Bristol City away, first season back in the championship. I wanted a win so much, for a positive end to the season, to carry on into the new one.... Same here, and the cash'll help! 👌
 
Big carrot for us. Finish 8th and 4 to 5m better off. That's Swift bought in one game, plus change.

Hoping for a win. 10th would really detract from how good we have been. Plus of course it would be the highest finish in my lifetime and we don't want to have another team finishing below us doing the double on us.

Just stop Ings!

Pretty decent comments on the whole but a few of them start off by giving us praise & then twist the knife at the end as though they are embarrassed by the thought of a bit of forelock tugging.
 
Cant argue with any of that.

Boring nil nil or boring 2-0 defeat I expect from this one. We are on the beach, literally in Mousett’s case.

Seriously though. 4 defeats in 10 for us is way out of character compared to the rest of the season.

It's what I expect next season. More post locdown form than pre lockdown. I would be happy with that too personally.
 
Good set of fans are the Saints.

Got a good mate who's a Southampton fan and went to quite a few saints matches with him when we were at uni*. Self-deprecating and reasonable, but back their team when it matters.

* was a reciprocal arrangement and he even once got interviewed by Hallam FM as a United fan outside meadow lane...
 
Fair comments all round, and just hoping for a win to round this fantastic season off.

Funny, because I would have guessed, if asked, that we would be a long way behind them.
Enjoted watching their games since the restart. Look excellent going forward but suspect at the back. Think Ings should be in the England squad. Would love him in a Blades shirt
 

I don't think Wilder has got a lot of time for their manager for some reason, I seem to remember things were said earlier in the season. I think he'd quite like to get one over on him, so hopefully we will be fired up for this game and put on a good show and finish 8th. They do however look pretty good at the moment, I saw them against that other united from Manchester and they looked lively and dangerous going forward.
