First time I really feared for us was when we lost - rather weakly - at Barnsley amid talk that Speed was about to chuck us for the Welsh job. I'm with a few others that write on here that think the 0-4 at t'Lane was actually one of our best performances of that season. Scunny broke four times and scored four times that night, it was ridiculous the way it went. The team that should have scored four that night lost the game. After Speed left, Carver kinda inspired the idea that we might get out of it with a 1-0 over high flying Swansea and a good performance at Norwich where we were unlucky. I think he was in charge when we beat Palace at home too. It all went to pot when Adams took three months to get a win which included the Scunthorpe debacle at the end of February. That result confirmed it for me though I was fearing the worst throughout the month before it. Looking back, we should have given Carver the job to the end of the season - it couldn't have gone much worse than it did with Adams and Carver did get a couple of performances out of them. We might have sneaked out of it had we gone with him?
