That, my friend is the $64000 question ,
I fear the former, I apologize for my pessimism but we have been in these situations too many times
The funny thing is I can't think of a season like this before. To be so far clear of 3rd without playing well, the feeling from many fans was that something would go wrong, and indeed it has. In past seasons where we got promoted, it was hard work but deserved with occasional blips. In seasons where we were challenging but didn't go up, we were never so far clear at any stage.

When I think back to the games v Bristol City, Blackpool, Stoke, Hull, we could easily have dropped points but didn't. It really seems a case of points return levelling out to performances after a glut of fortuitous wins. We didn't play Spurs off the park, but nicked a goal in a poor game. Blackburn was a more important game and accurate yardstick. Similar to Boro we were second best in all areas.

Okay, who's mates with the Reading poster? Come on own up...

The Blades love to put through the wringer. and after being a Blade for 64 years I should be used to it.so Hecky please pick a team that can battle for every ball, don,t concede sloppy goals, a 1-0 win for the Blades will do. increase our lead from 4 points to seven points. The Fans who are going to Reading will be behind you all the way. Then another 28k will have The Lane rocking on Saturday v Luton Town. Reading are not bad at home however we should be enough quality to beat them.

“I feel like we need at least a point on Tuesday. Feels unlikely since Sheff United have won at our ground 6 times in a row and we’ve not beaten them at home in the league since 2007.”

We know what's coming nah ;)
Hey I remember that! Was a teenager, our first ever away match together just me and my mates. Got the transport down, and we fucking lost 🤣

Still a good day out

In fairness csnt knock the comments , we all have our fair share of optimists ..and fuck me me we have way more than our fair share of pessimists !!! … That first goal is so important tonight , think who gets that , gets the points ⚔️

Cheers Panchero!

I went to the Reading away game last season, a bitterly cold night, hardly any Reading fans in the stadium, a dull game we won easily 1:0 .
I will take the same result again.
Well, sounds and looks like last night had a resemblance to last season.
A much needed 3 points 🙂

I'm convinced this is something to do with having one of the best (expensive) squads in the league (on paper), a squad that with a few players that are probably too good for the championship. It feels underwhelming when they win while not at their best (seems to happen quite often) and even more frustrating when they misfire.
