Preston North End - the epitome of Championship plodders!
Mind you, they were being kind to us compared to what Luton fans think of us. Have a feeling that when Luton fail in the play-off's that they might just end up doing the same as Blackpool have done this year. Hope so, anyway.
We're above all that bitterness now. Innit' great!! 😇

Hughie GREEN of course because next season for Sheffield United, Opportunity Knocks. Good lord I must be old. One or two trying to hold onto a contract or make themselves of interest to teams in a lower division , like Preston North End, and we could play very well on Saturday.
 
Always liked Preston for some reason. Probably because we’ve played them about 4,000 times since I’ve been going to the games.

Hope them, Luton or Millwall go up.

I think we are quite special tbh.. to maintain form over a season and half, with everything else that's been thrown at us.. incredible really..
 

I watch lots of Premier League football and lots of it is poor. The difference been most teams have a player or a couple of players who can turn games with a bit of individual brilliance In between that there is a lot of pass sideways, back and then hoof. Some of the keepers are terrible Pickford, Kelor Navas, at Forest and Meslier at Leeds stop shots with good saves but just push the ball back into the middle of the box. We were unfortunate in drawing Man City in the semi final as we would have given Man United and Brighton a run for their money
 
Another set who can't accept what we've achieved. Also even though they are 22 points worse than us they could still go up to the Premier league this season. If they do it then I'll predict here we'll finish above next season.
 
A lot of teams this season have said "they're nothing special" and to some degree I agree with them, we haven't blown teams away 4 and 5 nil like previous promoted teams have but theres one area where have been tremendous, and that's defence, weve got away in lots of games where we haven't played well but come away with one nil wins, mainly because the other side couldn't score giving us the platform to nick a win, yes theres been some goals that weve conceded (Burnley away, where if that hadn't happened I think wed have got something) that have been defensive errors but they happen to every team.
Many have said we'll come straight back down, and it is going to be tough but if you have a good defence then staying up is a lot more attainable.

I think it's more "we look nothing special" and to be honest most of the time I agree.
We have long spells where the opposition control midfield and also in away matches we have spells towards the end of sitting back in numbers parking the bus.

However almost every match this season our XG has been better than the opposition.

The general pattern of many games are
The opposition look better than us in the centre circle area.
The opposition also have plenty of attacks so our defence is busy, however our goalie rarely needs to make any saves.

Regards us, we don't attack so much but always seem to create good chances forcing saves.
We have high quality players that means we also have this knack of scoring a goal out of the blue from nothing.

Basically (a bit like Luton) we're a better team than we look and thoroughly deserve to finish 2nd.
We've had plenty of 1-0 wins, especially away from home but they've all been professional displays and quite comfortable wins.
 
'Sheffield United are nothing special'.
Says a lot about scummy Preston and their team quality doesn't it?

There is an argument to say that all teams in the Championship aren't special if you look at the vast majority we have played they have parked the bus for a good hour or so we have nicked a goal and then we have taken control. When we have been allowed to play and not be constantly up against 10 or 11 players in the oppositions half we have played the best football in the league the masterclass of Burnley at Bramall Lane and although at the time beating Cardiff like we did, didn't feel like a 4-1er they allowed the pressure on them
 
Why's everyone getting their knickers in a twist? Plenty of that reads like it could have been lifted straight off this forum 😄
