Cheers roy, these are the comments that worry me, when they expect a beating it usually becomes a spozzy win or draw for them

No mention of kidney punching the disabled. Very disappointing.

Surprised none of them remembered them nicking a last minute winner at the lane in ‘99. The man sat in front of me just had with his head in his hands for 5 mins shouting “Oxford?!?! bloody Oxford ?!?!”
If that was in BLUT that might have been me

I might put a £10 on them, with our injury concerns and playing for almost an hour with 10, the likelihood of Wilder making lots of changes with an eye on Friday, plus our appalling form for 2 games after international breaks, this could be a huge banana skin for us…. 1-2. Hope not, as we desperately need the points going into Friday as o can’t see any teams around us dropping points in this round of fixtures, and a win against these and again of Friday could really put us a step ahead at the top.

Cheers Roy, another sterling effort!!
Never really think about Oxford, they've done ok last couple of seasons, fans don't seem too bad, still hope this is the start of our 3 goal plus wins, give these a good going over, lift confidence and hope our injuries don't bite us on the arse!!

COYRAWW!!!

Thanks Roy.

So much better when fans just give an honest opinion with no axe to grind.

“It was 1-2 back in the eighties. Wednesday evening game at Bramhall Lane. Steve Biggins won it in the 88th minute right in front of the home end. Remember it so well. A repeat scoreline please.”

Tuesday night, actually. 6th March, 1984.

Yes, I looked it up in the hope he'd got something wrong, so I could come on here and pretend to be the bollox, whereas I'm just pathetic really 🙃

17,914 attendance in Div3. Not bad at all !

Cheers Roy!! UTB!
Travelled down from Newcastle Uni with my Oxford mate, thought we’d blown promotion losing and then losing to Wimbledon. Scraped home at Turf Moor 😆

"they looked vulnerable at the back"

Thanks Ray Charles.

Cheers Roy. These Oxford fans are the reasoned Ying to Coventrys full blown arseholes Yang.
Although I do think that the first person to comment about watching this from behind the sofa maybe confusing us with Dr Who.

I cherry picked this fixture to take my mate to his first Blades game, thinking it'd be our best chance of a big win! Lol
He's been a Blade ever since 👍

The Oxford fan who says that he would have preferred Stevenage will be disappointed when he looks at the fixture list.

I’ll see who we’ve got available on the injury front ? .. against a team with nothing to lose off the back of a hammering …. # banana skin

If that’s the game I think it was then our goal was from Colin Morris one of the best goals I’ve ever seen from a United Player a 30 yard top bins thunder bastard I was only about 10 years old so it might not be that one?
Even if you were mistaken it still makes a good read :D

🎶 We've got Colin Colin Colin Colin Morris on the wing, on the wing...🎶

this is just the banana skin type of match we could lose oxford nothing to lose weve got injury concerns and more than likely a small quiet home crowd just turning up expecting us to win comfortably

Agree.......using logic everything points to a comfortable home win.
However over the years I've seen us come a cropper so often in these types of game.

It would be so typical of United to draw or even lose tomorrow night.......then there's melt down amongst the fanbse
with some farcially suggesting promotion is gone, we'll be mid table at best and Wilder out.

Then we bounce back to beat Sunderland Friday......so think we'll get 4 points from our next 2 home matches.

They conceded 6 at home and looked absolutely awful in highlights I saw. Even with a patched up team we should be putting them away at home.

Probably one of few upcoming games I won't get to watch unfortunately due to busy work week so I'll be following BBC most of game. 3 nil blades.

Remember this one?
Similarly expected to win easily.
You know the rest!

I remember beating them 5-1 in April 1970 then came home to watch highlights of the Celtic v Leeds in European Cup semi final 2nd leg. The attendance at Hampden Park was 138,000!

I remember arriving in Oxford for our away game in Div 3 a typical Cold rainy January in 1981 we were on our way down to Div 4.
What an absolute snobby town it was. asking people where’s the ground. No one knew. Mentioned the football ground and the answer came back in a posh voice that they only knew where the rugger pitch was. Eventually asking bus drivers who said Try that bus over there I think, well fourth bus later. There were about six of us and the bus prices weren’t Sheffield prices.
Their kop was open with a large drop at the back and no fencing. We heard later some lad had fallen off the back of the kop. The rain showers came soaking wet and a performance that had relegation written all over it
Yep we lost and I remember the bus driver saying when we got on to go back to the snobby place, how did game go how many tries were there.

We looked at each other and laughed because we had just lost to a team that no one knew nowt about. Yep fourth division arrived dark days indeed BUT Darlington beckoned UTMB

Thanks Roy
