First!

“I guess there will be 25000 in , they are well supported”

Not a cat in hell’s chance of that. 12,000 will be pushing it. The Kop will probably not be open.

They can win for all I care, never really been a fan of cups. Understand the club can't realistically have that view but if we put out our weakest side and lose I wouldn't be losing any sleep.

Struggling to decide if a cup run would be a good idea or not. Jury still out on whether or not we're going to have the mettle for a playoff challenge but at nine points behind with a winnable game in hand you'd think we could do it if we play well and win regularly second half of the season. If it were much more obvious that mid table was the peak of our ambitions this campaign I'd want us to take this seriously. I guess play a mix of first and second string and see where we get to?

Cheers Roy.

Not confident with this game. We historically field weakened teams for these early cup games and we often fail. First choice 11 and it's a walk in the park and maybe a 5-0 win. We won't start our best 11 so this game is up in the air. Can see this being close and maybe a Mansfield win.

And Nigel Clough “doing a good for us”, shows how bad we were during that spell. I think to a degree we weee inhibited by his limitations - he’ll never get you promoted but won’t get you relegated.
Most manager play to win, Clough played to not lose most of the time. Protect the point you start with, and all that jazz.

Well they seam up for it .

Considered giving it a miss but its £10 and what else you going to do on a January Sunday afternoon.

Should be a good test of a few second string players, so now really looking forward to it .

Has to be said , thats a great away following .

Get thi sen darn .

Well I'm surprised that Roygbiv could find so many people in Mansfield capable of forming a sentence unless it was in prison, that lot make dingles look intelectual.

So negative Nigel returns but I don't think he will be too negative this time it is a cup game so there has to be a winner draws are no use, some of the best times when he was our manager was the cup games where we had to go for it against better teams. I expect Mansfield will come with that nothing to lose attitude should be a decent game.

They don't seem very knowledgeable about our upturn in form, I expected better if I'm honest with their proximity to Sheffield. I know a fair amount of Mansfield fans and they've always seemed like a pretty clued up bunch. 13k fans max imo

Looking on ticket site would imagine 12k unless we somehow have a big uptake before match

They can beat us because they beat Sunderland and we play in the same kit?

With that kind of logic victory must be within our grasp.

“I’ve always quite like Chris wilder. I wonder if Clough will make an enquiry about any of their squad players. Jamie Shackleton could do with a bit of game time. We could provide that!”

Jamie want's to know what the dogging scene is like in Mansfield before he commits to an answer.

Personally think Nigel did a very good job for us - some really good memories
Great cup run for sure, but under Nigel it was another 2 seasons wasted in League 1 without really looking like getting out. That said, after he was sacked it got worse before it got better!

There'll be 15,000 tops and that includes 5,000 from Mansfield.

They should bring that incentive where the season ticket gets you the first 2 home ties in cups. That might entice people to go
You should get dibs on any big away day later on in the cup in my opinion if you've been to Mansfield at home and the likes.
