I'd be gutted if McBurnie scored his first goal (for a while) away from home. You could feel how electric the kop was waiting for him to put one in. I'd much rather it happen there 😅

(cheers Roy also)

“Remember the game against them in 1970 – a 2-1 win that day as well. Super Mac scored one of our goals and, I think, Ryan got the other. Tony Currie scored a penalty late on, and then flicked the v’s at us in the Oak Road. There was a really hostile atmosphere that game, about 20,000 there…”

“just booked my train tickets for Saturday, will be in the Brickies for 1130 ish “

“It’s on Friday”

😂 😂 😂

(oh......first!)
Hope that's their manager/coach posting, if so recon McBernie hat trick. 😁

"raucous atmosphere" - huh 🤔

Only from the Blades end mate.

To my memory, historically, Kenilworth Rd ain't a good hunting ground for Blades, so somewhat apprehensive.
How ever, present day, feel Blades will have too much for the 'Hatters', providing present momentum maintained.
Thank you Roy.😄

Are Luton us in season 2019-20? We had come up to Championship and just missed the play offs the previous season then our second season in the Championship we got automatic promotion. Let’s hope not. A first away win would be good!

I think this division looks extremely average so far.

That being said this game represents a golden opportunity to stamp our authority on the division. If we put a sequence of result together over the next 5 games and we could find ourselves 5-8 points clear.

I’m being pedantic but last season wasn’t their first one back in the Championship.

Love the optimism but given our away form over the last year, that's unlikely. I agree that the last game was encouraging but I'm wary of over reaction here, let's not sound conceited like the pigs, keep our heads down and concentrate solely on picking up points and see where we are at the business end. Long way to go yet.

Jones was also complimentary of a strong Sheffield United side but he looks forward to being back under the lights at Kenilworth Road.

“They are a different level financially from us but someone sent me something last night actually and it’s the top two point gainers in 2022 and Sheffield United are top and we’re two points behind them. We’d probably be top if we just started a little bit better. If we beat Birmingham for example, we’re the top points earner in the Championship in 2022. We’re both in a good place, it’s a real tough game.

“For me, they are arguably the best side in the league with the best squad and at the minute, they are top of the league so they are in a wonderful position. It will be a tough game but with the greatest of respect, these are the games we love.”

lets destroy the little welsh fucker's side

“Worst this Division has been for years and I think we will only be mid table at best this term. There is no way the squad is any better than last season”

this is the problem with football at times, you cant overachieve. mid table in the championship is now seen as failure, despite not being in the football league 8 years ago. when really just being championship for them is a huge achievement
Well it's all about expectation

Wendies truly believe they are on par with Everton and Arsenal but in reality Luton are much. better than them just now in reality

some of our fans believe we should be vying for a uefa spot in the prem but seeing as we've only been in the top 10 of the prem once since its inception its a bit optimistic

we are in our element pushing for promotion back to the promised land

it's not bad place to be for club with so little financial clout

Being a football coach myself I know you can never be arrogant so no worries there.

But we have the opportunity if we keep the levels high … then there is no reason we shouldn’t talk confidently about building a points cushion early in the season.

Appreciating there is still a long way to go.

This division is the worst its been in years...

Said a Luton fan, after completing one season in years in this division..

Or do I smell pork? 🤣🤣

It's a poor division, which adds to the sense of anticipation for all. Any team could do it, and good luck to Luton. Sky/BT love the ''big'' fallen giants like Scabs, Leeds, Pigs, Derby, etc. but hate the likes of Luton, the antipathy of what the PL represents. Until they change ground they can't even play in the PL ffs - how unfair is that. Good luck to them, they show supposedly bigger and better what it takes.

I wonder how many of the crowd in 1970 will be there on Friday ?
Sensible and inoffensive points as a change from most other opponents fans .
The group I was imbibing with were of a certain vintage. They’ll be at the match ,health and living/dead status permitting. It was a strange experience talking to Luton fans about a match that took place 52 years ago. McDonald had a lot of confidence, self belief and gob on him, he was going to do all sorts to us.
