Good point
It’s one of the big misconceptions of this season….but I stay quiet because I love seeing opposition fans pissed off thinking we’re trying to buy the league.

Fans of other clubs might see us buying 5 new players this window (all fairly big names) so they automatically think we’re overspending.

However the truth is:
We didn’t finish our Summer24 business and were short on numbers, eg we expected to bring in Mikey Johnston on the left wing and Tom Cannon up front
Our first 11 was strong but we started the season with the weakest squad depth amongst the promotion candidates.
We all said we’ll be alright as long as we don’t have injuries, we were OK up to December, now half the team seem to be injured and we’re struggling to fill the bench.

So signing 5 new players isn’t extravagant, it’s essential. We’re desperate for extra bodies and it’s a miracle we’ve still been winning.
Also we still haven’t overspent, people think it’s parachute payments but don’t realise we’ve brought in nearly £40 million selling Archer, Osula, Trusty, Bogle etc.
Correct, however, without the PL parachute money, we wouldn't be able to do this. The key point for clubs, though, is how well, badly or indifferently that money is used. With the possible exception of Shackleton, we've spent wisely. Plus, to your point, which is rarely mentioned, sold well too, without weakening our chances. With a few exceptions, opposition fans simply don't know enough about us (which is understandable, as this will be vice versa) so make assumptions and generalise. Overall, I think you're right to say we're not overspending, which is critical to the long term future of the club. The necessity to get promoted, under Heggy, added massive pressure to the process.

Tigers, tigers, rah rah rah!

Always been an odd bunch. Was hoping the one road out of Ull might have been shut in the storm so we could enjoy a completely empty away end, but no such luck.
