brilliant Roy :D

but when i visited Fleetwood last season, it was so hard to not be disrespectful because there ground is a culture shock compared to what were used to, always remember the club shop, my auntie wanted to visit so she went in & wheeled my uncle in his wheelchair but because it was so small (sure there is walk in wardrobes bigger) he took up half of it we had to wheel him out so other people could get in & felt so bad for laughing

also ive heard fleetwood a few days ago had only sold 27 tickets

Nothing but respect for their fans and of course you Roy, good to see you've stopped making things up to make us feel better.

Thing is, as much as we (including me) take this piss, the fact that we are now playing them for the third consecutive season, not to mention the fact that they have the better record, is a far more damning indictment on us.

Yes quite. Football fans are a funny bunch. We moan about 'plastic' fans of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, go on to complain about teams like Wigan being in the top flight and not being 'proper' clubs, before ridiculing smaller overachievers for not having enough fans or facilities. It's hard to get it right, really.

I didn't even know they were 4th or 10 unbeaten! I've suddenly got a bad feeling about tomorrow night now.

Stats can be a bit misleading tho.
Almost all their last 10 fixtures have been against teams near the bottom.

Also many of their wins have been tight 1-0 battles. They've conceded 1 goal in their last 5 matches.
General feedback of their matches is that they are defensively orgnanised, work hard but are a poor outfit.

Regards their support.
Fleetwoods average away following this season is 139
Their best was taking 538 to Bolton
And worse was taking 41 to Bristol Rovers.
So expect about 100 max of their fans tomorrow night.

Full respect to a very small club managing a division which should be way beyond their means.

Both sides have played 5 games against current top 6 opposition without either recording a win.
Blades D 4 L 1
FT D 2 L 3
Hopefully that will change tomorrow night, in our favour

For a team that gets 3k at home or more most games, their away support is poor, irrespective of how small a club they are. If they can't get at least 250 for a game against us at Bramall Lane when they are the highest they've ever been in their history then it is a sad state of affairs.

There's a few reasons for the lack of away fans IMO. There's a large proportion of 'older' fans who have followed the club through the non-League days and as with most clubs, this age group aren't generally the travelling away type. They've also picked up a lot of disgruntled Blackpool fans (and fans from other clubs) who have been riding the wave for the last 5 or 6 years who, whilst happy to get season tickets and watch them at home, are not committed enough to go and follow them away. Of the rest, they have a lot of younger fans who have jumped on board in the last couple of years who don't travel for obvious reasons.

Fleetwood are the worse supported team in league 1.

Current average 3,038
Average away fans at their ground 541
Average home fans at their ground 2,497.

Cheers Panchero, let's hope we put the breaks on their good run and our mini bad one

Worst thing is, I've never seen us beat them (I missed the home win last season), so you'll all be glad to know I'm not making the trip tomorrow :)

Yes, it seems most Blades are very exclusive about which other teams we grudgingly respect, basically it's us and........... er...................

Are those the views of the fans that are actually attending the game on Tuesday? Save yerself some hassle Roygbiv and just wait outside Bramall Lane end after the game tomorrow to get the post match "view from Fleetwood".

I'll just give my mate a ring, he can canvass opinions from the other 3 in the car :)
