To temper this a bit, I fucking despise Coventry and I hope they fold.

Hull, on the other hand, I think about twice a year - when we play them. I don't mean that in a Billy Big Bollocks beneath my notice sort of way, they just prompt no emotional reaction in me at all. On a list of clubs I like through to ones I hate in English football, they would be found firmly in the middle.

IMO, Hull are just as nothing and mediocre as Reading. The football league would be no different whether they were in it or not.

Coventry are a good side and have some decent players. We need to be on it 100%. These are the types of teams that we can come unstuck against if we are lethargic.

We need to set out our stall from the first whistle. Straight in their faces hard and fair. Press press press them into making mistakes. We can't let them get a foot hold at all. We need to dictate this game and put at least 2 chances away before half time.

100% effort until we tire. Make clever substitutions on the 65 Mark and then pick them off on the break.

Easy game this so it's a 3-0 victory for Coventry then

They've got themselves in a right state since learning of this thread too. I have no huge reason to dislike Coventry, they just tend to be an annoying bogey team for us.

Oh yeah, the SISU protest match was annoying as fuck I suppose. Had no objections to them protesting against an awful owner, would actively encourage it. However it was strange how their whistle blowing protesting only happened when the opposing team had possession and mysteriously dissipated when they didn't. Weird that.

I went to one game at Highfield Road in the early 70s that was abandoned. I think we were winning 1-0 when it was called off(?). If I remember correctly we lost the game when it was replayed.

I was there as well and at the replay, which I recall us losing 3-2, but my memory is probably shot. While it was a real pisser, to be fair to the ref, visibility was pretty poor.

Coventry are the Wednesday of the Midlands. They both feel like they have some divine right to be in the top division, even though they've both been out of there for 20+ years and have been forgotten about by now.

I remember meeting some Coventry fans in France during Euro 2016. I found most England fans to be spot on and most put club loyalties aside. But these lot were nuts. They were talking about their Milk Cup victory in 19-something as if it was the Champions League, and wouldn't stop telling me how Coventry are one of the biggest teams in the country. I think they were groundsharing with Northampton at the time
