Don’t even know what the word means but here goes …

Wankers

A honest question for you guys. The whistle match clearly still annoys you.

Why weren't you angry when Birmingham City protested with whistles when you played them?

Firstly, because there was barely a peep out of them and secondly, their fans didn’t chuck stuff on the pitch towards our players when we were on the attack, clearly trying to disrupt our game.
That worked well, didn’t it?😉

We’re not against protests in the slightest - just don’t try and disrupt the play of your opposition, that’s all!

The main time where I thought we'd hit absolute rock bottom under Slav was when Coventry were playing well and looking like play off contenders, and I had to accept that we might actually finish below this beige team in the table.

It must be hard being a Coventry City fan as it is such a meh club. After a long stint in the top flight fighting relegation nearly every season and awarding their player of the year award to their goalkeeper or a defender, they finally did the decent thing and got relegated. Back in the Championship they seemed to continue being a meh team by finishing midtable, never really pushing for the play offs or getting into a relegation fight. They finally did the decent thing and got relegated to League One.

I don't want to sound elitist, but it must be so dull supporting them knowing that each season will naturally peter out to nothing. Maybe last seasons whistle blowing was the highlight moment of their last 30 years.

They are the dullest most nothing team I can think of. Just bland and boring with nothing going for them.

Reading their comments on Roy's View they also seem to be the most bitter, and more deluded than Forest fans!

I hope Billy scores in the 5th minute after we "foul" one of their players to win the ball before hoofing it up the pitch, where he elbows a defender on the way to heading it in. Then we surround the ref with shithousery antics to convince him that it wasn't a foul and the referee agrees. I mean, that's what they're expecting isn't it? 🤷‍♂️

You're right to be fair. We were treated to 34 consistent years in the top flight and an FA Cup win in that time and then it turned on its head.

The 15 years after that were some of the worst any football fan could face. That partly explains why we've never had good crowds in the 21st century. A whole generation of fan lost because of the club being relegated 3 times, playing in 4 different stadiums, 2 in different cities and towns, 2 administrations. We were a depressing basket case of a club.

Last 5 years have been good though. Two promotions, two wins at Wembley and now back at the Ricoh for what seems like a more settled period. Bottom 3 budget and a top half spot. Remarkably, we are now ran well as a club. Probably one of the best run clubs in the championship when considering the budget/losses/league position.

That's much better, the real Blades are back, upsetting every f***er ... lol the bitterness is almost tangible

That's fair enough. I just saw that they planned a whistle protest that game. I didn't watch the game myself.

We'll always disagree with the second part. I've discussed it on here multiple times.

Whilst looking at their forum I noticed they only got allocated 2500 for derby and they hadn't sold out the reasons being its a dinner time ko and 28 quid I think that's not a bad price

Don't really understand what a dinner time kick off means to Coventry fans anyway
Coventry's one of the few places in the world where cafe's close for dinner

They talk absolute bollicks .. long ball , cloggers .. who in fucks name have they been watching ??
None description tin pot club & fans .. I’ve forgot about em already 💤💤😴

Ampt read all posts but Mobile Blade shows that if they are right about The Blades, blood will be spilt. Bloody 3rd South team all my formative years then they employ Jimmy Hill nuff said.
Thank You Roy :), could be a tight game, they haven't scored many recently so two goal could see Blades through.

Interesting mixed bag there.
I can see why Billy cops for some stick but every team has someone like Billy who fucks off the opposition supporters for one reason or another.
They’d all have him in their side tomorrow if they had the chance - but they can’t ‘cos…..
We’ve got Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp
We’ve got Billy Sharp.

They have the audacity to mention “tennis”? Billy’s goal shortly after the break for them to protest against SISU (who owns them now?) was one of many highlights of my Blades life.

I know and like many Cov fans and a sort of respect for them and their club.

But this weekend? Fuck them and their knitted hats.

Evening lads.

Thought I'd pop back on here as we are playing each other again.

Remember a similar thread from our game earlier in the season. Made me chuckle.

Cov fans only think you are dirty because of that tackle of Lamerias about 7 years ago. Still to this day baffles me. We tore you to shreds that day and you still managed to beat us with a late Sharp goal. Our team that day included Fleck, Jacob Murphy, Ryan Kent, Joe Cole and Adam Armstrong. James Maddison missed up with injury. Still ridiculous that we didn't go up that season.

Game earlier in the season was a bore fest. Little to separate the sides.

We've fallen away recently despite playing well. We tend to dominate games, miss 4/5 clear chances and then concede to any chance against us.

The pitch at the Ricoh has turned into a bobbly mess thanks to the London Rugby team playing there. Our passing style of play has unfortunately had to be changed because of this. I'm interested to see how you perform on it tomorrow if you try playing a similar style.

In regards to the yellow cards, we are where we are because Gustavo Hamer has about 37 yellow cards this season.
Nice to see you back on here, I wish you no luck whatsoever tomorrow but nonetheless good to be back in the chatter with Cov fans.

Cheers Roy! All pretty much the usual Coventry shit they always seem to come out with. They really really dislike us don't they?Have I missed something here or is it some irrational hatred based on nowt in particular? Like when I used to hate that twat who used to sit on the front row of the world snooker final wearing his fucking hideous Admiral retro Coventry top.
My head thrown back laughing manically as I imagine him being mauled by Komodo dragons.
Anyway, nailed on win for us tomorrow. We'll piss this lot.

They didn't invade the pitch and stick a corner flag in the centre circle. Coventry were trying to get the game abandoned, and they were bang out of order.

Protest of course, but do it the right way.

Wankers.

Fair. Let's hope you never fall into the position to need to protest.

As I said on the night, on here. We had protested for about 8 years to that point. That night was the accumulation of many failed protests. I'm glad you won, most were.

Spot on. I'm trying, but struggling to think of a more boring team to support in this country.

I'm 28, if I was a Coventry fan the only thing I'd have had to celebrate in my life would be a measly promotion from league one and they didn't even get to see it. Come to think of it, I feel a little bit sorry for them

I'm only a few years older than that. You're right, unfortunately. As I said above, that's why our crowds have never been as high as they should have for a city of our size. We moved to the Ricoh, with the issues that stadium has, and declined on and off the pitch. Compare that to similar sized cities, Leicester/Southampton/Stoke. All had success after moving stadium and built crowds.

Winning twice at Wembley in 18 months with 45,000 Cov fans there each time was good, even if it was the Checkatrade trophy and League 2 play offs.

I suppose i didn't consider the chuckaturd. I hated even being in that competition, but I suppose we never got far anyway. Maybe it would've been different had we got to a final whilst down in the dumps. We almost celebrated losing an FA cup semi final to Hull because we actually scored a few goals at Wembley. How times change

Yeah, it was the season we were relegated from League 1. The chance for a swansong at Wembley before heading into the abyss was always going to sell out. It was a good day in the end and the start of Mark Robins time at Cov.

Weird little plastic club manufactured by Chinny Hill. A bit like Crystal Palace to my mind. Or Brighton but without the media love in.

That seems a fairly poor justification to me. Protest by staying away, by arranging protests outside the ground etc, all you want. Your club has been chucked in the shitter repeatedly, I support and agree with your protests on principle.

Don't do it by trying to fuck over another team that has fuck all to do with your gripes against your owners etc.

As an aside to all that shite, I loved Highfield Road. Went a couple of times and thought it was a lovely, properly old-fashioned ground. You should never have left.

What they did is a more effective form of protest though, as they said, many other attempts had failed.

Fucking up a league fixture becomes the only way to be heard, because nobody gives a shit otherwise.

I went to Highfield Road, I watched the Sillett cup final, I watched you have a great run in the top flight and do feel for you with all the ownership issues .

I was also at the Ricoh the night of the protests. Fine if your fans did it evenly across the 90 minutes. It was anything but. It was a disgrace. Cov attack, forget the protest and support your team. Blades attack, protest like f*ck. Leon stopped in front of goal because of a whistle.

Load of bollocks. Protest outside before and after and you would have had most Blades fans supporting or joining in.

Hats off to you, Robins must be one of the longest managerial tenures in all leagues and he does a steady job. Good luck to you after tomorrow when I hope we absolutely stuff you with a bit of Sharp shithousing thrown in for good measure.
