I agree - if we write off 12 games (top six home and away) then suddenly we're left trying to get 40 points (say 11-12 wins) out of just 26 games. City and Liverpool aside, there's question marks about all the other big teams - as you say, just look at Palace and Newcastle last week.
I actually watched both games and if 10 men behind the ball from minute one is the only way to play , then plenty on here will be calling Sir Chris out , for playing negative shite ,
( thankfully he doesn’t think 🤔 like that though )
That’s not the jist of my post though
I’d take points of anybody , but I realize teams put together for hundreds of millions of pounds , are at this stage of our premiership journey better than us ,
BTW I think Arsenal / Spurs and Chelsea at home could give us points ,
But I’m not going to pretend that we’re better than we are
That’s the porkers job

this is going to be mighty tough, but then top 6 side will always be tough these aren't the Europa league winners & in champions league (on merit) for nothing. these have very right to very confident, like we would in same situation. although they might get a surprise because they ae expecting us to park the bus & ive only seen us do anything similar like that once in 3 years v leeds . I was thinking that this is a 1st some of these comments have the whiff of African & Asian fans the pure glory hunters who never even set foot In England.

I unfortunately disagree. Picking up bonus points against those ur fancied to get hammered by could go along way to making the difference between survival and relegation. Palace picked up 3 against Manure. Newcastle 3 against Spurs. Who knows how vital those extra unexpected points could be at the end of the season.

Manu score that peno , palarse would have been beaten , I think we’ll do them there as well ,palace that is
Spurs get that penalty, barcodes would have struggled even with 10 behind the ball
Those sort of tactics sent us down last time we where here , I prefer to give it a go attack is the best form of defense , I don’t want to see afraid 😱 to lose football
We are a good team but next year (If we stay up ) I’d be looking for a top half finish
We are in a mini league from 10 down I’d be delighted with topping that section of this league
Like I said we are a good team but I’m still walking , and not running yet

Have they forgotten that they are the team that formed the "park the bus" saying. Hope we shock them up

“On the day of this game, it will be 96 years and 328 days since Sheffield United kept an away clean sheet against Chelsea, a 0-0 draw in October 1922; the Blades have conceded in all 30 games since”

Nothing I like better than an opposition supporter putting the mockers on their own team. Nailed on win now and a clean sheet to boot...

In fairness they should be confident as we would be if the circumstances were reversed. Hopefully we would have a better understanding of what the opposition brings but who can tell. We have some big time Charlies too at times

Cheers Roy.

Of course they should win. But if the players are as complacent as some of the fans seem to be, we could give them a bloody nose.

Failing that, my tried and tested method of putting a home win on my acca will do the trick. It did for Man Utd last week..................

Are the Chelsea fans a bit thick ?
We are not a Championship side we are a Premiership side just like Chelsea.

We might arguably be the worst Premiership side in this years league but at least show us some respect.

Twattish comments but relative to how we've been when playing lower placed clubs. You'd expect them to be really confident.

I've absolutely no idea what to hope for.

Injuries? Check. Shit ref? Check. Spoiling tactics? Check. All the usual suspects, but now with new, improved VAR excuse for when we beat the arrogant fuckers.

Mrs SEB is a long standing, if lapsed, Chelsea supporter. On a night out not so long ago, we met a vociferous self-proclaimed Chelsea nut. Conversation went as follows

Nut: Massive Chelsea fan me, go to all the home games.

Mrs SEB: I've been a Chelsea fan for years. I've got a signed photograph on my wall of my favourite player and a Chelsea legend.

Nut: Brilliant. Is it Didier?

Mrs SEB: No, a real legend Peter Osgood.

Nut: Who?

The prosecution case rest M'lud.

Cheers Roy. 👍

Views like these must be like gold dust to CWAK.
I am sure they will be sticking a poster size version up in the players' changing room.

To be fair they will be massive favourites to win this game, we are just some small northern club as far as they are concerned, so fairly easy straight forward 3 points for them

Thanks Roy. :)

“Should play Alonso. He gives us extra height against a big Sheffield and we have few fit wingers.”

Doesn't McBurnie increase our average height to 5'7 in heels. Oh and it's United! Tosser!

I'd argue he was well within his rights to say Drogba, he helped win the European cup.

He's entitled to his opinion on who is a legend. However, If I told you that I had a signed photo of my favourite player and a legend on my wall, and you responded Deane? And I said no Currie. As a genuine Blades fan would your response be, 'Who?'

That's the point!

As for the debate around why the older element don't hold Drogba, Lampard et al in such esteem, See post #48.

There are many Chelsea fans pre-Abramovich who feel little or no connection with the club. Hence they feel no real affinity with players of that era.

There's currently a clip doing the rounds on YouTube from when we played them in the early 90s at Stamford Bridge. 13k there and this is when the Premier League was in existence.

I think it explains the narrative of their comments.

If Richard Cadette is Chris Wilder after all, I'd stick these comments up in the dressing room tomorrow. They'll need to be high up though, as we have got a big side.

That'll probably be from the season when they pulled in 7,000 for their Premier League clash with Southampton.

Regardless of the financial doping over the past 20 years or so, plenty of us remember and know precisely where Chelsea rank historically amongst clubs.

Cheers Roy.

On the day of this game, it will be 96 years and 328 days since Sheffield United kept a clean sheet against Chelsea

I would imagine this will be at the forefront of Wilders thinking, as he makes his selections.
Although some of those involved will have lost a bit of pace now.

Is it even accurate? Silent.

At Stamford Bridge,..... not at the Lane.

We haven't played them that often what with them being a Division 2 side for most of that time
