Massive thanks to Roy for this, especially as he's doing it on holiday with shit internet.

Anyway, if they believe their so called supporters, there will be only one winner in this game, and it won't be Frank Lampard's Chelsea.

Assumptions proliferate, understandable in some instances, but for fuck's sake, try and credit us with a realistic appraisal of why we have the best manager in England (if you're unsure CW voted in top place by all other managers), why we don't just hoof the pig's bladder, and how we're capable of inventive, decent football...I thank you.

Thanks Roy.

Calling us "Sheffield"- check.
We are a "big" side - check.
Totally dismissive of us - check.
We are a "Championship" side - check.
Easiest game of the season - check.

Arrogant fuckwits, yeah they are favourites but I really hope we can give them a tough game & get a result to stuff those words back down their throats.

If there’s one thing I hate about Widlers Sheffield FC, it’s his low block, 6-4-0, no space behind the defence tactics. Just another shit championship team of brutes and cloggers. Abraham had us on toast last season. Easy 9-0

👀

‘Big Sheffield United’?! We looked like a team of midgets against Blackburn.

One or 2 sensible comments but the rest can f**ck off. I think I’ll say that a lot this season.
I thought that on Tuesday but our “First XI” by comparison are land of the giants.
Henderson
Stevens
JOC
Egan
Basham
Lundstram
McBurnie
Didsy
Are all 6ft plus. That of course doesn’t mean we can’t play football just doesn’t help with dispelling the 10 year old stereotype of hoof all. It’s also a nice bonus to have a set pieces.

There's currently a clip doing the rounds on YouTube from when we played them in the early 90s at Stamford Bridge. 13k there and this is when the Premier League was in existence.

I think it explains the narrative of their comments.

If Richard Cadette is Chris Wilder after all, I'd stick these comments up in the dressing room tomorrow. They'll need to be high up though, as we have got a big side.

He put Roys View From on the wall...

Cheers Roy.

Arrogance in plentiful supply with those early comments. They are in for a shock if they think we will be the 'easiest match of the season'.

Seriously, do any of these fuckers actually watch football outside of the 'elite' teams?

Much fairer comments further down however. Surprised to hear that we 'thumped Derby home and away' though I must have missed the away leg.
We lost one of them

i think we'll beat these. Chelsea are the OED definition of plastic club.

Let's be fair we'd be the same in their shoes, but I think we'll give them a game.

I’m not surprised by there confidence, I’d be happy getting a point , can’t see it happening though , we need to chalk these games off this season , these aren’t the games that will see us safe or relegated, next home match is one of those games , didn’t expect to get much last week either
Let’s be realistic Blades , and don’t get like the pigs 🐷 , we are a good team but just not up to top 8 standard yet , next season we can kick on again

Most of those comments will be tourist fans, fifa fans and armchair fans from the comfy couches of Lagos and Mongolia.

Bang on.

There are plenty of Chelsea fans who miss the days of Dixon and Speedie due to the change in culture since RA arrived.

I was talking to one of theirs a few years ago and he was telling me about how buzzing he was to get a ticket for the CL final in Munich but when Drogba put the winning penalty in he didn't feel at all euphoric like he imagined he would.

Was interested to see what Roy came up with regarding one of the big six supporters and they they think of us
Well one said we are a Championship side most think it will be a walk in the park some think it could be hard game but all think they will win.

Hopefully their players will be equally minded. ANYWAY we owe them one for that relegation defeat 2-3 at their place in May 94

I'd say that when you compare us against other teams in the PL we don't look 'big'. The standard size for a PL player now is a 6ft plus brick shithouse, the vast majority of them just happen to be really good a football as well.

The likes of Eriksen are an exception to the rule but they are exceptional footballers (we have Freeman and Fleck of course).

Big centre halves is a given in most teams, take McBurnie out of that team and we wouldn't look big at all.

I knew the time would come this season where I though "im not reading that, it will just wind me up". Based on the comments from you lot who have read it, I aint bothering!

Appreciate the effort as always AndRoy G Biv, but I am giving this one a miss.

In Cricketing Terms... 'It's a free hit' we are expected to lose, Just give it our best shot, anything better than a loss is a bonus. No pressure 'Frank Lampard's Chelsea!!!

Wilder doesn't do free hits.

I for one expect a defeat, however I just hope and feel we'll give a good account of ourselves without being 'plucky'.

I unfortunately disagree. Picking up bonus points against those ur fancied to get hammered by could go along way to making the difference between survival and relegation. Palace picked up 3 against Manure. Newcastle 3 against Spurs. Who knows how vital those extra unexpected points could be at the end of the season.

I agree - if we write off 12 games (top six home and away) then suddenly we're left trying to get 40 points (say 11-12 wins) out of just 26 games. City and Liverpool aside, there's question marks about all the other big teams - as you say, just look at Palace and Newcastle last week.
