Love how naive... scraped past 9 men twice... 2 teams that have parked the bus yet we still took 6 points... used to like them but they seriously think they're all that now
 
Ricky Holmes out injured. Good news for us potentially.

A much more open game than our previous 2 and Wilder will have the lads prepared. Once again I think we need an early goal, here specifically to exploit the frustrations of the home crowd.

Tough one but going with 1-2 Blades. Clarke and O'Connel to score.

I feel a bit sorry for them as it sounds far worse than we've had to suffer in respect of owners but, after reading some of those comments, I hope we stuff them. Obviously, I want us to win all games but I'd love to see a big score to us and them finishing with nine men.

How many different scorers have we had in the last three games? We've got goal threats all over the pitch and on the bench.
 
For all their off-field troubles and, until very recently, on-field ones... they're a confident bunch. Dismissing our 14 game unbeaten record in favour of ridiculing our two recent WINS against teams with no intention of doing anything but stopping us from scoring? Teach them a lesson in respect, Blades.
 
Still gutted we didn't get Ricky Holmes in the summer. Quality player. Glad he's out for this one.
They're massively over confident, can't wait to see them crash back down to earth come 5pm
 
I like Charlton but there is some some simplistic views in there.

We all know that;
a) Billy is not our main threat, more the finisher of the work of our main threats.
b) we are a different animal all together when teams attack us and give us space to play in.

I hope the charlton staff and players are as niave in their views.
 
If there are 3/4 hold ups in play due to fan activity (as suggested in 1 of those comments), I hope the ref calls it off an awards us a 3-0 win by default. They aren't the 1st club to have shitty owners (don't we fecking know it). I have sympathy with them and protests are fine, but SUFC is there to play a football match. If prevented from doing so through no fault of our own, Charlton forfeit the match as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I feel for Charlton. Imagine what it must be like being in the third division when you should be higher, seeing constant changes in management and playing staff.

I understand roughtly what the Oystons' agenda is. They had a season in the Prem and milked the money.

I have no idea what Duchatelet's thinking might be. Is he really trying to kill the club and if so, for what reason? A lot of people don't like McCabe but most accept that he's made bad decisions though incompetence, not malevolence.
 
I hope by the end of this match CARD are still calling for this Dutch chalets head and he's telling them about the eight new start.
Also what's this about United's large fairy community in London, not heard about that before?

Trig, it's quite a bit more than that. I do know a bit about what is going on there, but the Oyston's are happily suing and taking action against a lot of people. I don't want to become one of them.

Blackpool's demise has been cataclysmic, and could very easily have been avoided.

These protests about bad Chairman often confuse me.

The bottom line for fans seems to be if a team struggles then obviously the Chairman is shit.
If a team does well then the Chairman must be great regardless of what he does.

For example Southampton SELL their best players every year
Surely that's a recipe for disaster but their owner is well thought of because they still do well

Wednesday's owner has increased match day prices to the highest in the league
Changed the shirts getting rid of stripes
Change the badge
Doesn't communicate with fans not interested in their views
Has this foreign coaching style where a separate committee buys the players not the manager
Got rid of the Owls logo in the seat and replaced it with his name etc etc

If Wednesday were struggling no doubt he'd be the worse Chairman ever, just in it for the money trying to rip off Sheffield folk but because they reached the playoffs last season then obviously this means he must be a good Chairman

I bet if Charlton were in the PL then they'd accept their chaimans behaviour and just say he a little different and eccentric etc

Context of course, but this type of autocracy has failure built through it's DNA. You cannot, and should not, distance yourself from your supporters. Football has changed radically over the last 30 years, and there's a tendency to often accept these changes, albeit with the occasional moan, and then move on. A point will come when this bubble will burst, no idea when this might be, simply because the bond from supporter to club is hardwired into the supporter so it has a similar communal connection as those who choose to go to church come good or bad weather. We'll put up with new stadiums that are soulless, we'll accept new kit each season that cost the earth, and all because we love the team who we have nothing in common with, yet we choose to believe that they embrace this love we have for our club simply because it reinforces the romance of football.........so, returning to your point Sheffsteel, I'm glad to say that we, SUFC, haven't yet embraced this quasi-North Korean style of ownership. No doubt when we are promoted we'll notice changes, but I also imagine we'll take these on the chin, because...well, isn't that what football supporters do?

As for this Wendy illusion, as with the fat ruler at Newcastle, he has no understanding of these matters. One thing I will say in old Kev's defence, even though he's often acted poorly, even stupidly, I think at heart he'd love this club to be successful, and maybe, just maybe, having that supporter connection in his blood will be the difference between the swine who aren't imaginative enough to see this illusion for what it is, and knowing that we have a club that is still, in relative terms, realistic in it's desire to stay connected to it's supporters.....or maybe I'm just being fanciful, and that in a few seasons, when we're knocking on the door of the Premiership, we'll have turned into the corporate nightmare that soaks it's supporters royally?
 



Having read a few of those comments I'm beginning to understand why The Pigs fans have had such issues with them over recent years. Some of them sound the dictionary definition of arrogant self absorbed London twats.
