Just seen they signed Dykes - who I think is pretty awful, but always seems to score/cause us trouble. Hoping we score enough that his customary goal doesn't matter

That's a typical 'we watch our own team, no others, and look at the league table occasionally. That's how we form opinions' view from.

Cheers Roy!

According to transfermarkt, Dykes has only ever scored once against us in 7 games in all comps - so why do I also instinctively feel like he's got about five against us in the last couple of years alone?!

A real Mandela effect of a player 😅 probably because that one goal was a real sickener if my memory hasn't failed me again

I remember Dykes playing against us for QPR on a televised game a few years back, he didn’t do much but win a few flick ons, but was still given the man of the match by co-commentator Neil Warnock who eulogised him like his performance had been the second coming of Puskas…

It was in the 2-2 at the start of last season where we looked like the greatest team in the world for about 30 minutes and then ended up drawing with Q P flippin' R.

That was great. They almost always back up the MOTM award with an on-screen graphic that's like "Shots=1st, Dribbles=1st, Chances Created=2nd" etc and they just didn't bother for Dykes because he'd done absolutely nothing.

I can’t remember if Warnock was still managing at that point, I assume he must have been and was secretly trying to tap him up to sign him, as otherwise his none stop praise throughout the game was utterly bizarre…
