Merry Christmas to all of you!

Interesting read that. Burnley fans are confident… and for me they should be! The top 3 teams in the league are us, Leeds and Burnley… with a special mention for Sunderland too!
It’s gonna be one hell of a game come Boxing Day, the nerves are building for me already! A win and we are 7pts clear of Burnley and that’s huge! If we lose then our advantage is down to a single point!
We have a tough run of games, but if we can keep our momentum and then invest wisely in Jan… well… ⛴️ 💨
UTB ⚔️

Merry Xmas Roygbiv thank you once again for all your efforts.

As for the comments, I don’t like it. Mostly reasonable and far too complimentary. This is not what I was hoping for.

Also slightly disturbing that some of them are quite knowledgable about our first team when I couldn’t even name one of theirs, apart from Berge whom they flogged.

I wanted arrogance and more focus on the actual match about how they were going to smash our right back burrows or kick our central midfield clogger Norwood all over the park to defeat our long ball game. They’re simple too generous and knowledgable

A couple of minor comments about player pace, which is impossible to judge when the two sides haven’t met… but that’s it.

Let’s get Xmas out of the way quick so that we can get some arrogance back, I presume Sunderland will dish up their share of misguided massiveness but I wanted it from Burnley.

Joking aside I expect an incredibly hard game against Burnley, despite not knowing their players 😂

Thank you as ever. Have to say these comments were some of the most thoughtful I've read for a while (ever?). As SwissBlade said, they put my reverse knowledge of burnley to shame.

Also, I never knew that Cooper's reputation was so high, presumably even more so now.

As they mentioned, great work by Wilder and staff attracting such a high calibre set of players, and retaining others. He is one great salesman for sure.

Thanks Roy,

“Blades didn’t have anywhere near the same level of squad turnover we had."

apart from a complete team revamp you muppets.
And we’ve not had the injuries they’ve had, apparently…

But apart from those isolated comments they’re pretty reasonable.

Thanks Roy,

See also, “If they don’t win the league with the squad they have it’s a massive fail for Wilder”.

Do they mean the wafer-thin squad which has recently seen us forced into starting an 18 year old academy player up top?

Disappointed no Brammhall Lane in there, though there was some decent guff about physicality and set pieces. 5/10.

Happy Christmas Roygbiv

Bought o'hare at a good price and Davies won't have come cheap....... hmm

The leagues view that we spent big in the summer continues.

Thanks Roy. Slightly disappointed with the lack of snide, 'they're not all that' comments. Come on Burnley, put a shift in.
Besides that, got the makings of an absolutely cracker of a game.
Happy Christmas!

Real mixed bag of contradictory bollocks....

'They don't have the squad depth'..... 'They have a great squad...

'When injuries hit they'll struggle'...

'Wouldn't be anywhere near us with same injuries.'

'Only rate 4 of theirs'

'Wilder should take that squad up' .... 'Wilder performing miracles'

A real mixed bag of those clearly know nowt to some fairly knowledgable ones.
I wouldn't know who Burnley signed in the summer apart from Egan and he's barely played.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

I think that's one of the most informed view from I've read

We will have eleven men not ten so some on Blades give em a football lesson

Thanks Roy and a Merry Christmas

Apart from the ones who think we spent big (if only!) it’s pretty accurate views

Had a videocall chat last night with a Burnley fan who I will be having lunch with before the match. He said Burnley played very well against Watford. He is happy with their defence and midfield but the strikers havent really scored much. Hannibal had a good game on the wing and is better there than in the middle. Says Trafford has improved from last season and made a lot of good saves. He likes Egan but thinks Egan-Riley and Esteve (Premier League clubs watching him) are the better centre backs.

I asked him if Burnley arent as strong in set pieces as they were under Dyche, he agreed with me also agreed with me that Connor Roberts probably will be the "villain" that will wind up the home crowd with his dark arts antics and taking advantage of the ref's naivety.

He thinks Ashley Barnes would be a good supersub if he joins us.
