I need to put some money on Boro to win after reading that, we've got no chance!

Some fairly reasonable comments in there amongst the absolute nonsense.

Even a loss at this stage can absorbed. That’s not arrogance but realistically we’re both going to lose games between now and the end of the season.

Currently we need to lose four and Boro need to win those four to overtake us (not even three wins and a draw due to GD). Then equal or better our remaining results.

It’s not impossible, but the points are constantly moving, so a decent gap at this stage pressures those below more than us, they need to win and hope we lose for every game going forward.

It does sort of feel to me like a rest of season defining game. Win it, and we've got the confidence to chase Burnley. Lose it, and it'll be a nervous end to the season.

Cheers Roy, I think we seem to play better against the stronger teams so this rattled theory is bollox… I hope!

Lovely to see that the term "rattled" is back, after a brief hiatus for the Swansea game.

Why are they pointing to our tough run of games? We'd have to play clubs in these positions throughout the season anyway, unless they're thinking some clubs just don't bother playing each other twice. We've not come unstuck yet.
The advantage of being 2nd, is that apart from one game, you only ever play teams lower down than you 😉

Thank you once again Roygbiv, that was like reading war and peace never ending 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

“Their stability in second place has been down to other results.

Thus far – they havent met a challenge from a class side like the Boro, in express-train form.”

When he says other results, does he mean us winning 11 of the last 14 games? Ffs.

eah complete knobs of course Burnley weren't a class side or in form when we edid them 5-2 at home

Own up, who's been on their board and posted this............

“Apart from beating Burnley 5-2. And beating Coventry 3-1 when Coventry were in 5th place and going like an express train. They beat Millwall 2-0 when Millwall were in 1st place, Blackburn 3-0 when Blackburn were in 1st place and Reading 4-0 when Reading were in 1st place. People forget that Burnley took about 12 matches to get going; during that time there were a lot of teams who briefly bubbled to the top then fell away.
This season for Sheffield Utd has literally been defined by beating teams who were doing better than them before then. Sheffield Utd seem to be at their best against teams around them; their main weakness seems to be against teams in the bottom half who shut up shop against them There’s not really any pressure on them. They can equal their poorest run of form of the season and still end up in the automatic spots. The only issue they might have is complacency..”

I don't know why but the shouty arrogance is the comment that sticks in my throat. Blades are many things, but arrogant they are not.

Should be a good game. Be nice to play someone that wants to keep the ball in play and attack. I reckon 2-2 and we head into the "run of death" unscathed.

They are in good form so you'd expect confidence from them and that's fine.

Bit disrespectful about us considering we are also in good form (Table points to that) but only from some.

It's kinda a big game but yet too much onus is being placed on it given there will still be another 14 or 15 games left.
Having said that if we were to win might knock a bit of stuffing out of them in regards catching us. But either way still alot of points to be played for.

It's still entirely up to what we do before and after the Boro match.

Boro 3rd
Millwall 5th
Watford 6th
Spurs in the cup
Blackburn 8th
Reading 18th
Luton 4th
Sunderland 7th
West Brom 9th
Norwich 10th

Blades aren't arrogant. We have every right to be confident, but that's not arrogance. A draw isn't a bad result, keeps them at bay. They need to win if they have any ambition for top 2. We win and we can probably go into a tough run of fixtures with complete and utter fucking arrogance if we want.

Even if we lose, we would still be 7 points in front, with a far better goal difference and a game in hand. This could basically still equate to an 11 point gap, should we win that game in hand.

On the flip side, if we win, we could feasibly create what would basically be a 18 point gap, if we assume we win our game in hand.

They absolutely need to win and even then, it probably won't be enough.
