Is he saying we were basically the same as each other last season but they were better because of Spearing?

I re-read it a few times. I think he thinks they were better last season when they had Clough or Ameobi.

The levels of delusion we've seen from the Bolton fans since last season are bordering on matching that lot at S6.
 
Not that I'm confident and it's bizarre going not a game as favourites but have these dickheads forgot that we got 100 points last season. We were streets ahead in League One.

Never an easy place to go though Horwich Wanderers in their generic out of town stadium where the name is up for grabs dependent on shirt sponsor. Hope we can finally get one over on them at their place.
 
if im honest i didnt realise til yesterday that we had a game tomorrow. i am apprehensive about this game because v derby & sunderland we had nothing to lose. we should win this considering who Middlesbrough hammered them 3-0. apparently lucky to get away with 3-0 v derby as couldve been 5/6. also i remember battering them, hitting every part of goalposts. 1st game last august & losing 1-0
 
A draw here would be a massive disappointment for me. Fully expecting us to outclass Bolton and have a 2 clear goal win.
 
One thing they are right about is that its going to piss it down all the match which unfortunately will be better for them than us I fear

I think he means Jay Spearing who to be fair was the class player on the opening game of last season.
 
Surprised to see quite a few articulate comments in there - they really dont have great expectations do they? Thanks Roy for the comments even whilst on holiday, it really is an essential part of the match build up now, and to think you even had to go to the pub to do it, that's dedication!
 

This wont be an easy game for us,although I expect to win by the odd goal.Could well be they fill the midfield and try to disrupt how we like to play.Even if this means trying to clog us off the pitch.Important we keep eleven men on the pitch and don't get drawn into anything.Set pieces will be their best chance of scoring so important we don't give silly free kicks away in dangerous positions.Going 1-0 to the Blades.
