Not much about the team but a few hints about where other things might be going.

no budget for next season yet
Hecky meeting PA today
Who we're offering contracts to should be decided in next 7 days

Didn't ask him if he fell off any cars

I sincerely hope he means the loan market to supplement the permanent signings which we really bloody need

I assume he doesn't but also that he's making an assumption as well.

I bet Stuart McCall likes to belt out 'Shoreham Boys', he's a proper bloke 💪

What you need depends on what you're trying to achieve. If he can't sell, what we need is to bank sufficient money to fund a Championship budget for the foreseeable future and get rid of any and all long term liabilities

We also need a new training ground while we have the money.

We can only loan 4 players from the PL, two at any given time and only one from the same club. However, I believe this is for the domestic market only. Fulham loaned 7 a few years back and only one was domestic. You will remember we signed Ritsos and Zivkovic in the January window from abroad and we also had Henderson from Man U and Mo Besic from Everton in our first season in the PL. So I would imagine that we'll sign two loan players from this country, probably Doyle from Man City (maybe with an agreed permanent deal if we stay up) and then another from somewhere else. I would also imagine we may well sign a number of players on loan from abroad, maybe with a view to a permanent. Maybe we'll sign a couple of free transfers and one or two permanent players for more modest fees than we experienced last time out.

I think the signings of Brewster, McBurnie and Berge really put a financial burden on the club and the Prince doesn't want a repeat. Not helped by the fact Brewster and McBurnie are now worth about £10m combined - at a push! That's if Brewster regains fitness soon.

On the other hand signing only loan players means you don't develop your own assets unless you're able to sign the loan players. As long as the players are decent, loan, free or permanent, then great but if they're all loans that we can't sign for whatever reason then we'll be left having to recruit next summer having lose several crucial players. Like we are now with McAtee and Doyle but in fairness those deals massively came off. I think its much easier as a Championship club to find decent loan players, harder as a PL club because the better assets are already playing for PL teams or if they're decent and available then often teams want to sell not loan out assets. We'll not be able to sign any decent Championship players for example on loan so maybe the interview today is an indication that we're not planning much shopping from the Championship.

PL rules is no more than 4 all season from the UK (and only 2 at any time). FIFA rule is no more than 6 total
Isn't it just 2/4 from the EPL? I thought Championship loans were unlimited? I think it's a clever tactic to look at the clubs who are relegated and see if we can loan players they want to keep but also want to stay in the top flight for a season.

Loans from Premier League clubs are risky as it means there's 2 games they'll be forced to miss, and if we've loaned them I imagine it's with the intention of being in the first 11.

We sorely missed Hendo against Man Utd, and more recently McAdoyle against Man City

You know, I really do like the look off that McAdoyle kid, he really is something else:D

I suspect we will still sign some players too.

But might be a case of 2 PL loans and 2 abroad ones etc. Then maybe 4-5 perms.

Not sure it’s that risky tbf - you can miss more than that with a suspension…

Certainly wouldn’t stop me taking advantage of the domestic loan market.

Depends who you loan from.

Do you really think we’ll be walking away from defeat to Man City next year saying “Curses! If we’d had Doyle and McAtee we’d have beaten them!”

I’m intrigued on Champ loans. 2 from PL but might be handy to borrow a fit Calvert-Lewin and Coady!
