For the record I don't get to have a beer at the Lion more than once or twice a year, but I always enjoy meeting Foxy and Linz, they are real nce folk, and I will be forever grateful for this site as it allowed me to re-discover a passion I thought I had lost. And that will remain true even if they close the site tomorrow cause they are tired of taking crap from ungrateful posters. For me, long may this site continue and thanks to all.

Although small and seemingly insignificant, you ignore and dismiss them at your peril. I have on several occasions won a game of chess with tactically used pawns. Don't knock 'em.

As far as the forum is concerned, for me there's not a better one on t'interweb. It's not perfect, there's that corner where SF sits that always smells of wee and they still allow the ginge, but these are minor foibles easily cured with a bottle of disinfectant and hair dye.

That corner is getting ever worse, SF and the'ginge' have formed a strategic pack together and are now inseperable, they do all activities together with the ginge hero worshipping SF, and as such, copying everything SF does, including his more unsavorey habits. He has not even had a tattoo of SF on his leg, as ugly a sight as you will ever see.

I cant understand people complaining about a "clique" at all with this forum and the people that run it. I started going to the golden lion because a family member (who we didn't see too often) went there before matches. Then we met his friends Alec and Dingledog (he does has friends in real life! I know! No one was more surprised than me!). I got into this forum through them, and despite the family member saddly passing away, all my family still love going to the golden lion, seeing dingledog, silver fox and all the rest of the forum regulars. Everyones friendly and chatty and while people consider there to be a clique, i find them to be some of the most welcoming people I've met.

If people dont like it, go to the bbc 606 forum and realise how good this place actually is!

Oh and prawns are immense! scampi fries are good, but you better have some good handwash and mouthwash to deal with the after effects.

Just been there once, after derby in februar, risking my legs with all the ice and snow, no one I knew by name from forum was there, just seen Blades dancing on Meat Loafs paradise by the dashboardlight, was not in the mood for that so did leave after just one John Smiths, think I have a better chance before or after Forestgame?
