Might be tricky, might be straightforward. Think we'll win regardless

When ever I start thinking "we've cracked it....what a team"
United always tend to produce a really poor performance to bring everyone back down to earth with a bump
Obviously our players will be on a high and feeling super confident enjoying matches but hope they don't become overconfident and complacent.
We need to make sure we start the game focussed expecting a tough match. Start the game right and we should win.

Everything is going so well....you suspect something will go wrong sooner rather than later.

So my prediction is an underpar performance leading to a tough and frustrating 1-1 draw, hope I'm wrong.

Anyone know if Osborn will be fit soon? with Lowe out I would rather play him at Left Wing Back, Keep RND at Left Centre back and Anel at Right Centre Back, we lost a lost of momentum at Hull when Anel had to switch to LCB.

Rough first half followed by an on slaught in the second. 4-0 including 2 pens

Might sound daft but our result could depend on what Norwich City do the night before away at Burnley.

If Norwich win, then they knock us off the top of the league.
Think this will give us extra motivation to start the game more up for it and focussed to regain top spot.
We were very focussed and started brilliantly on the front foot against both Blackburn and Reading, but they were both top of the league, so we were focussed.

Also, as seen in the other home games, 1st goal is vital.
Apart from Sunderland, everyone has come to Bramall Lane and been really defensive hoping to frustrate us.
When we've scored first heads have dropped in the away teams and the matches have been effectively over and become comfortable.
So as the Rotherham fan mentions in the Red Half of Sheffield podcast, he predicts that if Rotherham score first then they have a chance of a draw.
He says if they go 1-0 up they will proceed to park the bus and make it very difficult for us to score.
If we score first then the Rotherham fan expects his team to lose to us 0-2.

Looking forward to our local derby with our nearest rivals. They will certainly be up for it.

Millers mate just sent me this.. not sure about the holding hands and shining torches bit though...https://twitter.com/The_RUFC/status/1567118969248653312?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1567118969248653312%7Ctwgr%5Eb533df89a45f5425a2f408c42cc089691a2086d1%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpublish.twitter.com%2F%3Fquery%3Dhttps3A2F2Ftwitter.com2FThe_RUFC2Fstatus2F1567118969248653312widget%3DTweet

Ahh, forgotten how to embed tweet.

Hecky nominated for manager of the month, history suggests that a nailed on defeat is coming our way….. ☹️

Game called off because Queen did a dead.

Game called off because Queen did a dead.

No decision yet made.
The EFL cancelled tonight’s match, so why not announce that all fixtures were off.

It’s clear they prefer to play them but a decision will be made today.

You have to feel a bit sorry for Coventry who are already 3 home fixtures behind.
and with the World Cup being played in December there’s already massive fixture congestion for that club.

The protocol is 9 days of mourning , so that would be another 3 additional league fixtures to re-arranging
including Champions League, Europa League and Conference league matches.

In reality there will be a logistical nightmare, especially for the Euro competitions. Coventry City would need to re-arrange 6 fixtures in an already busy schedule, sure the season would need extending for them?

I expect this weekends matches to be cancelled but all the other fixtures from `Monday to go ahead as normal, so each club has to re-arrange just 1 additional fixture. However an important consideration Is the date of the funeral, as everything will be cancelled that day. If the funeral is a Saturday then that another fixture cancelled.

It would be slightly suprising but not a massive surprise if fixtures went ahead as normal this weekend.
Football could argue theres already a precedent that when the last king died fixture went ahead. Could also spin it as a special tribute to “the show must go on” spirit of the queen, thats what she would have wanted.

I would imagine the much better tribute would be for games to go ahead (as the queen herself would have) and for either a minutes silence/applause or the national anthem to be belted out by millions across the country.

It doesn't look like Anel has trained so we could have another casualty.

Might tally up with Heckingbottom's poor mood in the press conference and alluding to being forced to change shape.

With that in mind...

Option 1:

Do we bring Gordon straight in and hold our shape?

Baldock....Gordon....Egan....Basham.......RND

Option 2:

Same shape, but with Khadra at LWB. Might work in a game where (hopefully) we have more of the ball.

Baldock.....Basham.....Egan......RND........Khadra

Option 3:

Or do we change shape?

We could play 4 at the back with a flat 3 in front, for protection.

4-3-2-1

Baldock......Basham.....Egan..........RND
........Arblaster.....Norwood.......Doyle
....................Berge...........Ndiaye
..........................McBurnie

Option 4:

Or we could go really attacking.
4-2-3-1

Baldock......Basham....Egan.......RND
............Norwood............Doyle
..........Berge.........................McAtee
.................................Ndiaye
....................... Mcburnie

*posted in injuries thread but this is probably a better place for it given the content.

Who’s going to eat all those pies and £4.70 hendos sausage rolls?

Been donated to the Royal Family.

*imagines a load of Blades branded sausage rolls lining the buffet table at the Queen's funeral

So.... Game called off because Queen did a dead?

Having slept on it, it still seems a dumb decision Shut everything down then! Mourn on the day of the funeral! And shut everything down on that day!!
