Who is the player he was talking about? The one that he would be extremely happy if he pulled it off?

Does anyone know?

It sounds more like central midfielder to me now, I thought it would be a center back or a winger but in his interview he pointed out that Bash and Reed were the only two players available to play in the middle.

If Reed and Baxter are the only two players to play in the middle, does this mean that Wallace and Couts are out for a long time and / or do not feature in his plans?
I would say bash and Wallace are similar type of players in that they are both capable of winning it, whereas the other three are in theory more creative.
Where if at all does he see Flo fitting in? Would so love to see him cement a place in the team as he offers so much but like so many if our previous signings always unfit.

Wallace is so frustrating. Brilliant when he comes on but can't string a fit period together.

Noticeable by his total absence today, is he re injured?

Adkins may well have realised that he cannot build a succesful side around Wallace or Coutts for obvious reasons .

Big pity because on there day ,in the past , both very good players . We do need fit , not injury prone players , and a further CM may be coming in . I am leaving it to Adkins , at the moment , he seems to be getting everything right.

Flynn and Done coming back as wingers I imagine rather than right back/striker respectively. If that's the case we don't NEED a replacement for Murphy. It would be nice but not vital because Nigel is playing a more narrow midfield than I thought.
We need Hammond and another centre back for me.

From the rumours doing the rounds over the last few weeks, I would go for the young lad Aaron Pierre at Wycombe, Dean Hammond and Brandon Barker (plays both wings). We need to remember Done has had one good season in his career and Flynn is injury prone to say the least.

Nigel ruled out Pierre in his RS interview last week. There must be a few decent centre-backs out there?

I'd certainly agree with Hammond. I would also test Walsall's resolve to keep Romaine Sawyers. He's a cut above so why not be a Blade....

Not sure where Sawyers would fit in Nigel's system, but like you say he's a quality player, and judging by Walsall's start to the season we would be weakening a rival.

He might make a good winger if we won't be playing with a number 10 but I suppose some might say it's square pegs....

Where would you see him hypothetically slotting in Pinchy?

I thought he could play wide, mate? Maybe I'm wrong?

Agree on Sawyers. He looks a very good prospect and would be ideal alongside Basham or out wide with Che on the opposite flank. This is the sort of player we should be looking at in my view. One that has the ability and potential to grow as a player in our rise up the leagues (hopefully).

I think we have had enough Sawyers over the last few years, with Baxter and Cuvellier who ripped this divsion in teams suiting their style. We need guys to fit into new Nigel's style. I am struggling to see where the likes of Cuvellier and Scougall fit at the moment and Sawyers looks like another 5'9 midfielder with one string to his bow.
