What's with all the Ched bashing? He's had very little pre-season, coming back from last seasons injury and people expect him to smash hat tricks in when getting about 15 minutes game time. Give the guy a chance FFS.

I wouldn't worry about the Ched bashing, it's probably just the anti-Ched camp clutching at straws and continuing to have a dig some other way.

Really disappointed with Cheds contribution when he came on. Wonder if he will ever be the player he was, only time will tell, however really don't understand why Lavery has dropped out of favour. Thought he was good last season and should at least be found a place on the bench. He would have been a better option to bring on yesterday than Ched, as he is always a real nuisance for defenders with his pace and his closing down of defenders. He would have been the ideal player to take over from Billy and as shown last season, may be a better option away from home instead of Leon, particularly when we are defending and looking to hit teams on the break..

A few grumbles after the win yesterday...my review of the Barnsley game: Barnsley, Fans, Ched, G-SYNC

In all seriousness, Ched's every shade of shocking. I'm sure he still has a cracking shot, but I think his cameos have been appalling. Bad touch. Weak. No link up play. Football does not stick to him.

LOL at G-Sync. He's alright really.

Keep em coming, really enjoy these.

honestly.. our fans are beyond fickle
we've gone from relegation fodder to superstars in 90 minutes

Another great report, but surely you missed a trick? A great ironic trick in your report? Evans, an innocent man, was roundly abused from 1st minute to last minute by the "get thi boits and coit" thickets from Barnsley. Yet Hamill, a convicted wife beater, is idolised by the mugs. Funny old world, init? Especially when you haven't got a single brain cell between your fan base :):):):)

Freeman in the first half was shite, he got caught out too many times which forced Basham to also do Freemans job. When Freeman gets taken on he just stops for a few seconds then starts walking back when instead he should sprint back straight away. Thought Clarke was good before sending off, but why does he do something brilliant and then give the ball away straight after. Sharp on another day would have scored a hat-trick. Fleck, Duffy and Coutts played superb, especially there quick closing down notably in the 2nd half but Coutts seemed "fucked" near the end but i dont blame him. Centre of defence putting their bodies on the line as they should but also Basham and JackO were impressive going forward too. Stevens needed an immaculate performance an it was exactly that, i dont think he made one mistake from what i remember. Finally Blackman didnt have to do too much apart from a couple of catches but made no contact on the only threatening cross they put in all game and possibly against another team we could have conceded.

Playing up top on his own and in a side holding a 1-0 lead with 10 men and you want to bash Ched? Sorry but a week ago Billy and Leon were getting bashed for doing nothing.

His cameo's before yesterday had decent reviews and in fact at Cardiff he looked very good. lets give the lad a chance...

It isn't Ched bashing for the sake of it though, is it?

I have no expectations except, other than that he should be a) better than what we have and b) a good option to bring on. He doesn't look better than what we have, nor does he appear capable of getting close to it. He's a poor out-ball. It's not because it's Ched, it's because he doesn't look good. He reminds me of Akinbyi running around to get the KOP to clap him but doing very little else.

I hope I'm wrong and he turns it around, but his touch looks like it has gone. Players get slower, but they don't usually lose their touch quite like that.

Cheers! He is, in fairness, much better than most at opposition grounds, I just wish he'd stick to announcing a sub without a 'well done.'

It's cringeworthy I agree.

Agree he did look poor against Barnsley but he looked excellent against Walsall and OK against Cardiff and Boro.

Too early to comment properly yet.
We'll all have a better idea at Christmas.

Ched did well At Cardiff

Give him a chance? Not if a bit of Ched-bashing can get a bit of extra attention for a blogger/poster.

Am all for critical reviews of our players, but not ridicule.

This is about the 4th thread I have seen having a go at a player who came on at 1-0 up with 10 men and looking to keep what we had. He has looked pretty good in his cameo appearances to the point where a lot of people wanted him in the side.

I am astounded we won and people still look for negatives. Judge a player when he has played more than about 60mins of football!

That's grossly unfair. There's a bloke in Worsborough with half a brain cell and another in Dodworth with three quarters of one!

6 points from 12 in a league we are supposedly certain to be outclassed in and you're having a go at one of our players, we're above the pigs as well, what will make you happy??

Ta! ..I probably did miss a trick with that one, you're right.

I'm not sure ridicule is the right word? I want him to do well. I equally think it's worth making fun of our fans, who gave Ched a much better reception when he jogged up and down the touchline than they did Billy Sharp coming off, having won us the game.

But this idea of 'Ched bashing' is just annoying. Maybe some people are slating him for being who he is, I'm not doing that. I am saying that I don't think he is a very good footballer, it's not slagging the team. Be a boring world if we all thought the same eh?

You really don't want to think the same way me fella! :)

the first touch of Steve Kabba, the pace of Craig Beattie and the footballing brain of Connor Sammon
:)

An increasing problem at Bramall Lane, let’s not underplay it either, is Gary Sinclair
100% agree. Did we need an effin' lecture on what had happened in Barcelona, and on the hows and whys of why it was a terrible thing ? Did we ? Really ?? He talks to us, collectively, like we are 5 years old.

Simultaneously, on Saturday, his platitudes about Barcelona (but not, eg, about Sierra Leone) just made his words sound gauche, and his rationale arbitrary. I don't mind being patronised by someone with real talent or ability who I respect, but I'm afraid that "Everyone Must Listen To Me" Gazza just makes my guts churn. Oh, and let me talk to my lad and my mates about the game at half-time, instead of drowning everything out with your own bloody voice !! Boooooooooooooooo !!
