Possible summer targets

A couple of Walsall fans reckon that Etheridge is off to us in the summer, apparently he want's to leave and his hearts not in it, been poor for them recently though

I hope this is true. Would be perfect competition for Moore. He's been absolutely excellent in the games against us

In terms of incomings I reckon we'll need around six summer signings, so something along the lines of

GK: Etheridge
CB: Webster
LWB/RWB: Riley (loan)
LW: Holmes
ST: Gregory
+ another forward thinking midfielder with pace & abit of directness in his play (can't think of many right now) *EDIT - just seen Sammi Ameobi mentioned in the first post. He would be ideal!

this would suit me fine.

Do you think that would be good enough in the championship, a few unproven names at that level. I'd quite like to sign a striker whose scored goals in the championship, although they come at a price

6 signings when we will be releasing around 11. Do some basic research people.

I quite like the look of Enes Ünal. The Man City striker on loan at FC Twenty. I doubt we could afford to buy him but a loan may be doable. He has scored 13 in 25 in the Eredivise (excuse the spelling). He also only 19 so there may be scope to sign permanently further down the line.

Assuming we stick with the 3-5-2 I think we will see the following departures.

Long
Hussey
EEL (end of loan)
Riley (end of loan)
Chapman (end of loan)
Wilson
Walace x2 (I believe both are still at the club. Could be wrong)
Brayford
Scougal
Clarke
Done
McNulty

With 13 players leaving we will have to strengthen in quite a few area's and we would need reinforcements in the following areas.

GK (maybe a starter but would be happy with a backup)
LWB
RWB
CB
CB
CDM
CM
Winger
ST

That will be 13 out 9 in however some of those 13 have been out on loan or havent been anywhere near the first team.

All well and good . My view is the defence wants to be strengthened, all other areas seem ok , but we do need to add some real pace in the squad .

What will be interesting to find out . Will wilder give all the players a chance in the championship or will he be ruthless and completely rebuild the squad .

Either a Wenger or a Fergie or a bit of both .

Next season could make or break the team and Wilder .

He is stepping into the unknown , but see us surprising all and sundry .

Wilder will make sure our squad's not too weak, but he'll make sure that the togetherness is maintained.

He won't fail with a basic like that.

As I said before, between 6-8 signings is about right and that's what I'd expect to see.

Webster would be fine to get out of this division but do you think he's what we need at the next level

I think we will be looking to sign 10-11 players, for us to togetherness is our most important thing. Look at the pigs, they have fantastic players who are all too comfortable picking up there millions. We don't want to be like that we want hungry players, players with a point to prove.

I think we need to strengthen everywhere to be honest, stepping into the championship gives CW more wages to play with, more transfers fee's to play with and the ability to attract more players. We cannot stand still and hope we are okay. CW has shown he can do it on a shoe string, he did it at League 2 Level with very limited money, he is looking like doing it at League one level with some money. I'm backing him to do it again at Championship Level.

I do think there will be a few players who aren't the big name signings that will prove to be key.

James Wallace is a Tranmere Rovers player now fyi

Kept a clean sheet against the might of Malaysia on Tuesday night here in Manila. Also picked up the only booking of the whole game early in the first half!

CW must be getting a hell of a war chest to fund all these signings. Didn't realize the Championship generated that much extra income.

Lee Gregory league goals over two seasons (last one and current) in league 1 as of right now is 33 (excluding play off goals) and his penalties scored is 14 so roughly 42% of his goals have come from the spot. Not convinced but I am only pointing out his goal record which doesn't tell the whole story. We seem to be heavily linked with him so we may find out if hes any good or not.

I reckon Bradley Dack from Gillingham would be an astute signing.

I reckon Bradley Dack from Gillingham would be an astute signing.

I think Bradley started hitting the sausage rolls a bit too hard.

Doesn't seem to have been properly fit all season.

I think Wilder would be far more likely to go for Ricky Holmes if we're to sign someone like that.

Nathaniel Otis Mendez-Laing.

That wouldn't be such a big surprise.

Jed Wallace looked their best player tonight.

James Meredith of Bradford was the left back in the League 1 managers team - his contract is up in June.

what about adam armstrong doing well for barnsley only there on loan reckon we should go for him
