Possibilities?

With our [potentially] top 7 clubs in action this week & next, plus a number of other European games before Christmas, & the shortened season, this maybe the fine margin that helps us out a bit over the season!

Our next 3 opponents will all have played 1/2 extra games more than us when we play them, & some players will have played all those games. Yes they have bigger/better squads, but with more games comes more injuries [no Van Dyke or Fernandhino at least, & possibly no Allison or De Bruyne]. We would expect all 7 clubs to get through the league stage of the European competitions, so the pressure of those extra games after Christmas will continue, particularly with the season needing to end promptly for the Euros.

Add in the International games & the burden of those extra hours on the pitch puts more pressure on those squads.

As I said the margin of difference may be fine, but if it works in our favour [yes, plus others I recognise that before someone jumps in] then lets grab any opportunity it brings.

Lets just be glad that we did not make the EL, we really would be in the mire.

I'm fairly confident our points tally after 8 games will be more than 1!

No straws here, but a bit of logic - more games = more tired legs = more injuries = weaker side = greater chance of dropping points [hopefully against us]

Aguero just hobbled off.

With Jesus already out, it means they will face is with no available striker. He did score 2 of their 3 goal in the two matches last year.

Don't get me wrong, they still have some superb players, and I wish Aguero no harm, but this is still a handy conundrum for them to have to solve before the game vs us Blades.
