... really, there are some:

a) It was a blinding example of why Messers Quinn and Howard should never ever play together in the centre of the park ever again. Let's hope it was one noted by the management.

b) We didn't have to endure the agony of watching an extra thirty minutes of that drivel and the possibility of penalties. I don't think I'd have tipped us even from the penalty spot last night.

c) We're all gonna save some cash. No more tenners on crap cup football until the FA cup comes around in January.

d) We've saved a trip to the Emirates. Because really, we were bound to draw them eventually.

Can anyone think of any more or is everyone too miserable to even cast their minds back?

Positives ..

1) Met up with people not seen during closed season
2) Tried Hotel ... Prices not too steep
3) Ref had one hand which although politically insensitive ,provided some humour !

1) Kyel Reid... finally we have a winger that's quick and actually wants to take people on.

2) Blackwell acknowledging the teams short comings. Let's hope he sorts it out now while there's still time for us to have a good season.

3) The biggest cheer of the night being reserved for Monty coming on. Should do his confidence a bit of good!

4) Killa being Cup Tied... might put some Prem teams off splashing out on him (scraping the barrel for positives, I know!)

only positive i can see is that we can concentrate more on training for league games, than messing about in the mickey mouse cup

5) ...If my memory serves me right, didn't we get knocked out the Carling Cup in the first round at home, 0-3 by Port Vale in 2005/06? And didn't Warnock say after the game that 'He'd put out a side capable of winning, but they let him down' ?

Wouldn't mind finishing the season like we did then...

We got knocked out by Reading and Colchester in the cups that year. I think you're thinking of the following year when we lost 3-0 to League 1 Swansea.

We got relegated.

Geoff Horsefield was given a warm welcome back to BDTBL

Confirmed that all our season cards were active and we all got into the ground without any of last seasons ''Glitches''

A positive for me was as well as not being there I discovered the "Shout" function on this site which after using I feel I am closer to the modern computer world that everyone else seems to know about!!!

I didn't have to clean the toilet, and I had a nice dinner at Zizzis...

The team were probably beginning to think that they were invincible after beating Floriana, Sheffield FC, Chesterfield, Bury and Lincoln City, and drawing at Boro'. Now they know that there's a lot to do to if they are to challenge for promotion.
The positive for me after that result last night is that Blackie has probably realised that he has to recruit some quality from somewhere, starting with a quick pacey striker and a cultured midfielder who is at least able to play the ball through the defence. Both will be hard to find unless we are prepared to spend some more money, if there is any available that is.

Oh yeah, another positive - I actually got on Praise or Grumble for once. It's a shame they only let me on when I've got a grumble though!

Good news from last night...

Jamie Ward's ban was fulfilled on a pointless nonsense of an evening.

I thought of another one...
I got a few extra loyalty points so I can get my ticket earlier for Utd's annual Wembley disappointment in May!

Praise or Grumble - Andy Giddings gets up my nose with his sneering comments on any critisism of United - Last nights gem - Selling James Beattie was great piece of business - arsehole!

if the ref only had one hand, how did he keep his spare watch from falling off all the time?

Good question . We wondered the same but he did have a watch on both wrists strangely enough.

Somebody else must have noticed it , dont tell me you were all watching the football ?

positive - we are out of mickey mouse cup
positive - we get more rest in between games - REAL GAMES
positive - less chance of injurys as less games

Before we all get too down about this lets see what happens saturday. From what I can remember didn't we lose 3-0 to L1 swansea the season we went up to the prem or was it colchester.

Attendance 7k last night just show how much it matters

I know what you mean but after I was looking down the results section in today's star I think it was the biggest attendance of the round!!!

If Mr Giddings throat was in my immediate area, it would have been throttled. What a STUPID STUPID comment.
