Just heard NC on BBC Radio Sheffield.

Tone of his interview mirrors the tone of his style of play. Flat, monotone, dull, hardly upbeat and positive.

Doesn't instil any confidence.

Want to be excited and positive, maybe at 7.45 on Thursday I wil, but now feel flat and glum.

Anybody else?

We have to be positive, I'm not looking at the playoffs in a way that we will loose far from it. We can win this, and turn an indifferent season into a one of achievement.

Still can't see us scoring enough goals and since we can't keep a clean sheet it's not a recipe for play off success, really, is it?

If we concede first we can be picked off if we pile forwards (last 10 mins cos we'll try to keep it tight up to 80 mins - obvs)

If we go a goal up we will sit back deeper and deeper - all 10 outfield players back at a corner and wait for the inevitable equaliser. Then struggle to pick up the pace again.

We struggle to defend set pieces and are pants with our own set plays when attacking.

Why is this going to change all of a sudden in the play offs?

Cup matches?
Well they aren't cup matches. They aren't one off games against higher class opposition where we are not expected to get anything and can relax. There is a lot riding on each one. If you want a cup match to compare it with then think Preston away then the replay at home in the FA Cup.

I'm pretty sure that NC will view the home leg of the semi as a "not lose game" since there is a second leg to fall back on and it's effectively half time in the tie. We will not set up to put the tie beyond doubt in the first leg for the fear of being too gung ho and getting spanked on the counter ourselves. The thing is Swindon are dodgy at the back but if you allow them to play then they can bag a hatful. If we relinquish any tactical initiative and fail to press their back line into mistakes then that will be the biggest mistake we make and the tie might slip away in the yawning fashion many of our home games have followed.

Just because he is not like that fat bastard at Rotherham , or giddy as a kipper , doesn't mean he cares or is not in control. Clough works hard and has inner confidence and strength .

I have total faith in Clough having confidence and focus . Its some of the players who worry me.

So you want Clough to change his voice so you feel more confident? Okay.

@Gids1980: #sufc NC: "whatever has happened in the last 46 games doesn't matter. It's all about the next 3."

So Nige thinks we're already in the final then? That's the most positive he's been all season :)

Judging from recent form the semi v Swindon is going to be two blindfolded middleweights staggering enthusiastically but haphazardly around the ring trying to land a punch.

Difficult to call.

I wish we had a manager with the charisma of Wenger. Sure that would sort out all our problems.

Form is not brilliant at the moment, but I expect United having played in more pressurised games than the other 3,to pull through. That and the adrenaline the players will get should see us all the way.

I hope our players are practising their penalty taking ;)

depends how you say it
weve only won 1 of last 6
or
weve only lost 1 of last 6

our last 6 DDDLDW 7 POINTS
Swindon DDLDLW 6 POINTS

WE ARE THE FORM TEAM IN THE SEMI THEN
