well, i haven't seen it on t.v so dont really know, but looked more gerrards fault, and even more so with his reaction.

According to Warnock...

Gerrard played with an injection. FA refused request for us to sign emergency goalie

I know them injections they can make you go mad and make you fail to communicate with your defenders.

Has been having injections before his last 2 games aswell then. :)

Davis lets the ball run 10 to 15 yards when he could have cleared it.

Chris Lucketti was my Man Of The Match today. Solid on all accounts and never made one error.

What a free kick from Squinny. Had a perfect view of it. Twas a bloody sexellent goal.

I couldn't really tell what happend from where I was sat for Pompys goal. It looked to me it was more Gerrards fault for not coming out but never the less he did have a really good game 3 good saves that one from the free kick was the pick of the lot and he claimed evry cross as well. We are lucky to have someone like him as a 3rd choice keeper.

A draw was a fair result. We did resort to the long ball game in the 2nd half too much which was dissapointing but I guess holding out against a team of there quality was the right thing to do.

Roll on Reading.

EDIT: Missed out on what a fine debut Johnny Stead had. Hopefully he'll have a bright career at the club :)

Tomorrow this will seem like a good point but i have to say i think that was a game we could / should have won.

First half we were very good but in the second half we failed to keep possession and dropped too deep in an attempt to cling to the lead.

Davis was at fault for the goal in my opinion, i thought he was poor today but i'm confient he can pick himself up.

I would take Lucketti as my man of the match because he played the full 90 mins but i was thrilled with Stead too.

Still feel we lack creativity and the ability to hold the ball in the centre of the park but this seems to be the general concensus.

I was impressed with Stead, he made some good runs and had some nice touches, also impressed with Lucketti who i thought shouldn't have played, but im i was proved wrong not right.

Also i first thought Gerrard should have gone out to get the ball, but after watching it on TV Davis should have cleared it. Gerrard never seemed to like coming off his line, but the save from Taylors free kick near the end was great.

Any one else see the difference in ball control, their players conrtolled the ball down while ours seemed to flick it up or mis-control?

Having watched it back Davis was clearly yelling at Gerrard to come and pick it up and he didnt. Although Davis should of just held Benjani or whoever off so gerrard had abit of time. Both as bad as each other. Gerrard was too deaf and slow to react. Davis should of just relised his keeper was retarded and tried to shepperd it back better or hoof it.

Just seen MOTD this morning, and the Portsmouth goal, which I didn't see clearly yesterday as I sit on the Kop.

What in the bloody world were Claude and Gerrard thinking of? If we were at full strength, either Paddy would have collected the ball, or Morgs would have punted towards the railway station.

Unfortunate, but at least we are five points clear of the drop zone, and on the evidence of Charlton and Watford's season so far, they are well and truly knackered. So it's one more club to join them, and personally, I would like it very much if West Ham joined them.

I still fail to see how Gerrard was at fault, the ball travelling so far and ACROSS goal straight towards Claude. Yes Claude put his arm out, but that could just as easily have been signalling that he had the situation under control. There was plenty of time for Claude to realise that Gerrard hadn't initially made his mind up before he decided to pass to himself then flick it into the path of o'neill. He could have even played it across the 6-yard box where both Lucketti and Koz were.

In that situation as far as i'm concerned a centre back should be attacking the ball and putting his foot through it.

Not crucifying either of them however, given that they both had fairly decent games.

Oh come on clearly claude is pointing for Gerrard to pick it up. Both of them cost us 3 points really.

you what? so davis passing the ball to the portsmouth player is gerrards fault?

not sure how it's gerrards fault in some peoples eyes.

we could sit here all week and argue whos fault it was. we dont no what was goin through any of there heads but if the defender could see that gerrard wasnt coming to get it he really shud have booted it miles than pass it to there player. i didnt think that gerrard a bad game yesterday just this one moment of madness which we dont no whos fault it was.

i also wonderd why he was playing luckketi but he proved me wrong didnt think he would be upto the challenge but never really looked out of place tbh .

squinnys free kick was awsome and shows what quality the young lad has which we need to keep hold of if we are to do well in the future.

Im saying its both there fault if you actually read what i post.

Gerrard was shouting Claude to clear it but will still take half the blame.

Big of him I'd say..........

Yea and Claude was shouting for Gerrard to come and get it.

So there both at fault nuff said.

2 points pissed away in a vital game.

I just hope Davis and Gerrard learn from it.

But Claude had the ball at his feet......if you then shout someone and they don't come.....Claude should clear.

Id say there both at fault still.

Major communication problem cost us coz neither of them really reacted to what each other was saying.

Ball at his feet.....someone else to blame???

I'll leave it there with you if you can't see it.

Davis had the ball at his feet if gerrard doesnt come he cant make him and he has to take action himself

he cant make gerrards decision!

tbh its both there fault, davis for not clearing ,and then gerrard, knowing that davis hadnt cleared it, to come stormign out and slide into get it taking davis with him. if gerrard had dived when there player come in he would have saved it, instead of just putting his hand out. Both to blame.

It was Davis's fault, quite simple. No if's no but's. It was Davis' fault.

Gerrard was not coming for the ball (which i think he should have done) and claude saw this, so why not hoof it away.

Even though I believe Gerrard should have gone for it, it is still claudes fault.

Anyways, to me it looked a foul on claude, and also im sure the ref pointed for a free kick before it went in the back of the net.
