We signed him off the back of scoring 60 goals in 2 seasons for Scunthorpe, he then went on to score hundreds in his career?

Tom cannon has 20 odd goals - ever.

This guy is dreadful. And I assume you know that really but are just being full bladey bladey about it. Because no one can watch this guy and think he is, or can be, a good striker.

Cannon wasn't playing for Scunthorpe for starters. He was up against Championship defences.

He's only 23. I don't think he's going to be the next Billy Sharp but I wouldn't write off a 23 year old who averaged close to a goal every second game at Stoke.

Funny old game innit? Even though we won I'm more pessimistic about our PO chances than I was pre-match. Clearly second best to one of the relegation favourites.

Previously we'd matched Millwall, deservedly beaten Ipswich and Oxford and looked decent in losing to Boro by the odd goal. How can our performance drop so much with what on paper looked a decent side? There seems no logic to it. CW / AK must be bemused by our ability to play well one match and shit the next.

COH must start when available from now on is my only take from this performance. Oh and we almost certainly aren't making the playoffs. Still, if we relegate the pigs and finish comfortably that's a very good season.

I think part of the problem is also the construction of the squad.

We play so much better with O’Hare as a 10 and Bamford as a 9. The squad would be far better with a back up for both rather than Cannon and Campbell. The latter has historically done well vs our rivals but he’s had a poor season by last season’s standards.

Just to be clear - how long is a proper chance? Jus so I know when we can agree he’s not good enough?

I would usually think a year is enough but maybe not.

The best test, by the way, is look at Bamford’s record in the exact same team. Bamford is a classic average champ striker these days and his record is miles better than Cannon’s so… how do we justify that?

He probably won't make a rop end Championship striker, but he'll make a living in the game. He's a young lad learning his trade and he didn't set the £10m fee, or whatever it was.

Bamford is nearly 10 years older. I'll make the Billy comparison again; Billy Sharp at 33 was a far better player, than Billy Sharp at 23.

Being the big man and calling a young player out as 'shit', isn't support on my book, but rhat won't bother you, so crack on.
