I liked him. Clearly limited, but worked hard and every now and again surprised us. Got way more stick than he deserved. The penalty after he'd only been on briefly vs Forest was calmness personified. Good luck to him.

At one point Miller and Porter formed a potent strike partnership, which was not to last very long due to SM's injury.

With a striker that runs at defenders, makes good movement etc. I believed and still maintain we'd have seen the best out of Porterhimovic, but it wasn't to be and instead he had to toil alone infront of poor sides, namely the Wilson season 2/post christmas and David Weir. We saw a slight improvement in him last season under NC.

That said, I am not falling into the routine of making him out to be Shearer mk2 in another clubs kit in the even that he scores two against Crawley Town on the same gameday that we lose.

Good luck Chris. Thanks for the memories. Favourite Porter moment? Easy...Forest @ Home FA Cup.

Some of the comments on Twitter are laughable and indicative perhaps of the relative recentness of some of the support:

"thank fuck for that one off the worst players I've seen at lane"

is my particular favourite.

Not by a long, long way my young friend.

The era of Paul Williams playing for the blades , makes Chris Porter look like Marc Van Basten .

Honest pro , but the blades are moving on themselves , and all players however liked or disliked have a life span at a club.
