For me that red card is the result of Billy not getting his chance in the team For the time he was on we had some great chances in their box, he used the ball well
The sending off wasnt a red, but the reason he was high tailing back and hustling like a tasmanian devil was liely the build up of frustration that he has not been starting. Poor lad got bugger all chance now he will miss next 3 games . Feel for the lad

I don’t feel for him it’s stupid and rash . It may be harsh red but don’t give the ref a chance to send you off. What good was going to come of it?

Poor fucker destroyed any chance of us getting an equaliser. He can go and sit in his fucking sandpit for 3 games.

It might be a harsh red but come on. He’s raked down the shin of the opponent who’s going absolutely no where miles from goal. Stupid tackle.

Was on the boarder between yellow and red for me.

Id have hated playing football against you if you class a tap as raking. Fcks sake

I’ve been sat in the same seats for over 10 years, 10 yards from the foul.
I have never seen the crowd around me react like they did with that decision.
I’ve seen it once in real time and it looked ridiculous - if see i replay and i’m proved wrong and hold my hands up. But for now?
Foul yes. Red card no.

It was no different to how he normally plays

He caught the lad late, certainly but I think last season that was a yellow. May also have been a yellow in another game this season.

The antics of the Southampton players today didn’t help. Not blaming them for Billy’s red but they certainly helped maintain the reputation we have that were a dirty Warnock team...

We move on

I’ve had to watch it online as I’ve just had back surgery so one of my mates has used my season ticket. They were furious as well and texting me to see how it looked on TV.

I was shocked in real time until I saw the slow motion replay. Billy’s boot stats half way up the lower leg of the opponent and moves down the leg a bit as billy goes to return to his standing position.

It was a stupid tackle but having seen the footage reviewed by VAR I can totally see why the red card stood.

Raking his shin might not be the best term but he’s in high, miles away from the ball. Opponent going no where so absolutely no need at all to go in like he did.

Must say I'm on other side and can't see particularly what happened, and still haven't. Was shocked a red came out but first thought was there's no need to make that tackle there

I still play at my age. Fortunately i play against men not soft arses

I’m 6’3 and 16 stone and still playing regularly myself. I certainly ain’t a ‘soft arse’

I just don’t see the how in modern football a tackle can go in just below the knee and there not be a chance of a red card.

He hardly touched him, thats why hes a soft arse.

Watch the replay. He didn't rake but he moved his foot in a raking motion and if you're the ref in his position it's a red.

Exactly what I was trying to say, it’s an unintentional movement but moved down his shin.

Harsh red, bad yellow. Won’t get over turned and I can see why VAR didn’t overrule it after review. United won’t even bother appealing.

Modern football is almost a none contact sport these days, which is wank. But that’s where we’re at.

That may well be one of his last appearances for us. Feel for him as it was very harsh, no way would that be a red in the Championship.

Wilder saying he deserved it - still haven’t seen it but surprised by that.
