But we are so short of numbers in midfield it's ridiculous. We're also still in the cup, which earns money. I think it's a really poor move not to get at least one midfielder inWe'd essentially be paying wages to still go down. What's the point in wasting cash when it's as good as confirmed. That said.. if we don't invest next season then I'll be pissed.
Give a spot to an under 23. Brunt for example. Get the young promising players bedded in so it feels normal being in and around the match day squad. But we are so short of numbers in midfield it's ridiculous. Wilder is the team manager, not the Prince! What I guess happened is that the Prince was willing to fund certain players like Rojo but Wilder didn't want anyone who wasn't from Derby/Forest and the Prince didn't want to give money for those signings so a stalemate with both of them not backing down leading to us signing no-one.
Wilder would rather no-one than Rojo.
Prince would rather no-one than a Forest/Derby player.

That’s a ridiculous argument comparing Messi with Robbie Savage & why would anyone want to pay the same amount for each of them?True, but it's up to the Prince to decide whether to release funds for certain signings.
For example if you were owner and you had the money you would cough up for Messi.
However if the manager said he'd want to pay the same amount for Robbie Savage... I doubt you would release the funds for that signing.

How do you know who, if anybody, the manager wanted? I doubt if he asked for money to sign either Messi or Savage, the point I’m making is it’s up to the manager who he wants to sign not the Prince.
Granted it’s the Board who says yes or no re the funds, as it should be, it also should be the manager who picks the players
And at which Football Club has that analogy ever been applied?Ok here's an analogy for you to explain.
A parent gives their kid pocket money once a week. They waste a lot of it on sweets last week and return for more.
The parent then says 'You can have some more money but only if you spend it on vegetables/books etc.'
The kid says no, and then nothing happens and nothing gets bought.
A month ago, with our squad at it's bare bones and performances as they were, I would have probably said we have to get a couple of players in.
After the last month I'm really not sure we really needed to.
We have players coming back from injury in their droves giving us a full bench again. On top of that we are looking like we are getting back to our old selves without the need for a couple of signings to perk up the dressing room.
The only reason to add players this month would be players that were guaranteed to go straight into the starting 11 and I think we all agreed the 2 positions required were RM and LCB.
IMHO the "old" midfield so to speak are looking OK now, especially Lunny, so why would we need another RM? Likewise Ampadu is getting better and better now he has been given a run in the same position so why would we need another LCB?
The 2 main names mentioned for those positions were Rojo and Lingard. Bearing in mind we couldn't have had both, Lingard has gone to West Spam for a £1.5m loan fee and his whole £100k a week wages. Is there anyone out there who seriously believes we should have been doing those sort of deals this month???

I believe finishing 1 place higher in the table is worth £1.8mWe'd essentially be paying wages to still go down. What's the point in wasting cash when it's as good as confirmed. That said.. if we don't invest next season then I'll be pissed.
Whos wages are we paying at 1.8m that's going to make a blind but of difference?I believe finishing 1 place higher in the table is worth £1.8m
