Poleon returns to Leeds

He was very good when he came on at Stevenage and is ready for his chance. If he does well he could secure a place in the team and make a name for himself. Good luck to the lad.

He was the only one that looked remotely bothered and did very well in the second half. I agree it might be a good time to get him more involved. Walker's emergence was around this time 5 years ago resulting from an unexpected gap in the team when Naysmith was injured - he had even less experience then than McFadzean has now and was an immediate success.

While Murphy has done fairly well on the wing, it's becoming pretty clear that we need someone a bit more clinical than Forte up front, and Murphy's the only one to have played there with any recent goalscoring consistency, albeit switching with time on the wing at Motherwell. He and Kitson looked effective together at Oxford. Get Murphy up front and Callum on the wing - we have to try something different.

No, you can't can you...however, have you ever considered the possibilities of why he's been dispatched?
Rodders sheds some light on it, but his obvious failure to carry out defensive duty instructions a couple of times in as many minutes resulted in his ejection at HT.
A reasonable guess at his attitude to that might give you the answer as to why he's been sent back.
In flashes he looked as though he could offer something but I'd hazard he was less than spot on with his application and intelligence. Shame, but these decisions won't be taken lightly....
He also turned up for Leeds' pre-season tour of Cornwall last summer.. and forgot his football boots :) He did fall out with Warnock over his attitude and was warned about conduct etc, but Warnock rated him. Id say its more that Redfearn has taken over and used to manage the Youth team that he's gone back probably.

...and there goes my only ever source of ITK-ness :(

If anyone wants to know, he was banned from driving the other day for being caught on his mobile phone and only having passed his test in the last 2 years.
I don't think you actually get banned for getting six points in your first two years driving, you have your licence revoked and are a provisional licence holder until you re-pass your test.
So I guess he was commuting from Leeds then? To be fair, his only talent was running very fast anyway

UTB

We didn't send him back - he was recalled by Leeds.

"Leeds have exercised the option to recall the 19-year-old, who made seven appearances for the Blades after joining on-loan in February."

That's the scary thing. They've recalled him even though he's been rubbish.
If he'd scored a few goals and been brilliant they'd still have whisked him away and we'd all be moaning about another Evans scenario costing us promotion again. We put ourselves in a lose-lose situation.
That's what happens when you sell your contracted top scorer and replace him only with short-term loanees.

Her didnt score for us & i think he held back some of our own youngsters.
This may actually turn out better if Calum can come in & do the business.

Got to recall both Cresswell and Chappell. Better them be here and fit but not playing than out on loan and getting injured so we cant call on them if we need them.

Poleon was dire on Saturday , I thought he was one of the ball boys first half

Lets give our own players a chance, he offered nothing and didnt fit in ,

Entirely believeable. From the Leeds United site:

In your haste to have another pop at SUFC you have shown yourself to be a prat.
I beg your pardon? Prat? what's that all about? I give my opinion and I'm a prat according to you.... Not sure what's eating you these day BB, I used to respect your posts despite not agreeing with them at times. Jesus....
And me having a pop at SUFC, do a bit of research and check my 'pop at Blades' posts and get back to me.

Have a like Broomers, I had a good laugh at that.

I suggest you have a trawl back through LSF's back catalogue of posts.

Eh up Grecian, has he got me mixed up with someone else I wonder? An age thing possibly? ;)
(replied to BB's before I read yours btw)

Then why was your knee-jerk reaction to disbelieve a press release from the Club, when all the evidence showed that it was entirely true? You put it down to 'opinion'. You may not be a prat, but you behaved like one in this instance. A bit of humble pie wouldn't come amiss.

Yes. I'm behaving like a grumpy old man these days - because there's so much rubbish being spouted by people who profess to support the club, but act otherwise. These past few weeks I've been very close to quitting this site - it's so depressing - but then occasionally someone comes up with a bit of commonsense and I wonder that maybe, just maybe, it's not a lost cause supporting the Blades.

Poleon was a waste of a squad space. As Daz said, better giving our kids a go than someone else's.

i dont care who plays but they need to be able to score. it doesnt look like any of them can score at the mo

The more I read my original post the more I'm confused at your replies to me. Anyway, we'll beg to differ on whether my take on things was 'knee jerk' and you can think me a 'Prat' if it makes you feel better.

Having had experience of club press statements and the 'truth' being one of the same, again, I'll let you go on taking stuff the club feed out as truthful and accurate, meanwhile, I'll continue to apply a bit of free thought and decide on the credibility of such press statements.

It could be that the recall and the press statement is designed to keep Poleon out of the pubic eye and not give the lad a reason to resent the situation. If he has made a mistake then the last hting he will need is castigating in the press for being a berk - the poor lamb.

Pretty much my line of thinking Kenilworth. From my vantage point on Monday, Poleon was twice taken to task by Hill and the coaching staff at his failure to defend situations. Once he didn't appear for the 2nd half, I began to think he'd not taken the criticism/advice too well and DW lost patience, substituted him and subsequently sent him back.
Saying Leeds recalled him saved a few egos all round.
However, we'll never know and hopefully never care once we are promoted

In your original post you said:

I responded (politely) that he had not been sent back - he had been recalled.

You chose not to believe the Club's statement. If he had been sent back, surely they would have written a non-committal statement (as has happened regarding some departures in the past).

I took a few seconds to check the Leeds United site, which contained a clear statement that he had been recalled. I believe the Star reported the situation as a recall, and not that he had been sent back.

I hope this helps to clear up your confusion.

Possible Scenario:

Wilson rings up Leeds:

Wilson: "that Poleon twice didn't do what I told him on Monday. Look, you helped me out so I am doing you a favour. He's out of this club but its up to you , you can either recall him or I will go public why we are sending him back"

Leeds guy "well, if you put it like that, we will recall him".

I don't know if it did happen like that. It maybe that Leeds did recall him without any hidden agenda, but it's certainly not prat like to suggest that the former scenario may have happened given what LSF observed.

That had occurred to me, too, but it seems unlikely.

I reckon that's how the conversation went.
Wouldnt it be good if Wilson went public and came and said what he thought about him
