I've no idea why you feel the need to have a dig at nearly everything I post pinchy but No I'm not bothered about points , results or how the team travel only thing I'm bothered about is the development of my son Connor Dimaio

There is no "everything". That's the point! Your contributions revolve solely around young players and are, frankly, daft. One of my many jobs on here is to seek out and expose nonsense. Start talking sense, perhaps even mention other matters SUFC beyond your rather odd obsession, then we can talk.

What's my odd obsession ? Is it the fact I'm looking out for my lad ?
If you got to a few youth games you'd see why I speak highly of him. I wouldn't say he's this or that without it being true because then I'd look silly when found out but hey your entitled to your opinion as is everyone so carry on pal oh and as for having many jobs on here does it pay well ?

What the professionals on here ? There that professional on here they slate a lad after a 55 min appearance in a position he's not used to.

Seriously doubt that there are any professionals on here but if you are his Father and can't see the folly of posting about him on here?

Dimaio did some good things, showed bits of composure which was what stood out when he played last season. He did seem very nervous though, and he did make touch/passing mistakes which were out of character for him. His limitation seems to be his pace, and he does need to bulk up as well. Clough has said that he's been used to playing as a holding midfield playmaker, and it will probably take a bit of time to adapt to different roles, although he will never be a wide man. Reed mostly played the ball backwards and sideways in his first few games, but he's starting to make better, more forward passes now. I think it would be for the best for Dimaio to go on loan somewhere to get more experiene. A19 byf has there been interest in taking him on loan?

How did you get these jobs. What are the others and what qualifications do you have to give us confidence that you are carrying them out correctly?

All the young'uns who played at Preston have tremendous potential, mistakes or no mistakes, nervous or not, lets just be glad they are being given some first team experience in what was a tough match.

If that is true I would suggest you are doing Connor or Diego no favours.

Explain please

If you are indeed Connor's old man then I am sure you are always looking out for him and always will do. That's what all good fathers do and I have no doubt that you are any different from this. However, don't forget that this is a fans forum for Sheffield United. It's not the friends and family area under the John Street Stand. We all support Sheffield United and regardless of whether we like a particular player more than any other or not, it's still the Blades we support and the Blades as a club we are concerned with.

If you consider a statement that you made in another thread (I think it was one of the Diego ones) about only being concerned and fully focused on one individual, you seemed to be quite dismissive about the rest of it all so it's easy to see why you get some kick back from the general fan that posts on here. There is a lot of piss taking and plenty of irreverent comment but on the whole it is very good natured and Foxy and Linz do a cracking job on the moderation of the site and how far they will allow people to go before they "have a word". If you get a little too over sensitive - because of your clear allegiance to your own lad - then you are going to have to take some of the satirical stuff on the chin and bear it.

As an illustration, by contrast, many of us are aware that Reedy's dad posts on here sometimes but I get the impression that he is a little more philosophical about it than you have been and uses the site to gauge opinions not promote a talent that is emerging. You may not feel that Connor is getting enough first team football, as would any player wanting to break through, but if he is good enough then help him get out on loan and show the manager what he can do so he comes back, better for the experience, more confident, fitter and equipped to compete with a fit Wallace or an experienced Doyle or a rejuvenated Coutts, a recovering Cuvelier or a rising start like Reedy. You'll know that the one's that make it are mentally tough - they can take all sorts of shit and still come out on top - I sincerely hope that Connor is made of this stuff and becomes a player of real note - for The Blades.

I'm afraid coming on a forum full of fervent, dedicated United fans, to say that the development of one player is more important than results and points for the team, is not going to endear you to anyone. In fact, it's utterly crass. I trust Connor takes a different view. If not, he will not fare well in a team environment.

I have been following United long before Connor Dimaio was born and probably long before his dad was born as well. I shall carry on doing so long after Connor Dimaio has left. I suspect our single-issue contributor will not be so active.

The lad certainly has promise, but no more than that at the moment. I wish him well. He needs, however, to excel at his own level before anyone is entitled to start making grand demands on his behalf. So, by all means, let there be a Connor Dimaio fan club and an associated website; complete with messageboard. I might even join it, one day. This place, however, is not it. This is a forum for Sheffield United fans.

What are these grand demands I or anyone else has made on Connors behalf

You would have been much better gauging opinion and giving your own had you remained anonymous. All replies to you will now be tainted as will peoples view of your opinions.

Remember Alex Higgins' father? Not Alex Higgins the snooker player.. the England youth player that was in Wendy's youth. His dad would be saying in the documentary about England youth players at Lilleshall that Alex would be playing for Wendy and England!
