Buy a road map. Buy a sat nav. Buy a tracking device. Hire a detective. Get a bloodhound. Look in every nook and cranny you can think of. AND YOU STILL WONT FIND A DECENT PAYER IN THERE!!!!!I thought Burke had a good game today and was a threat. It is the first time I have been impressed with him and I certainly wouldn't play him on Saturday, but at least today I have thought maybe there could be a decent player in there somewhere.
I agree. I think we ll see much more shit from him!I thought Burke was great but played shit.
Need to see more of this from him.
You're stunned? I said he did ok and made one particularly important tackle. I didn't say he had a blinder. Also I would suggest the definition of a player that is being scapegoated is that you look for and focus on the mistakes and conveniently forget any positive contributions they made because it doesn't suit the agenda of the majority.I’m happy to leave the jury out on Guedioura, and to accept I might have seen it wrong tonight. It’s one game, anyway.
I’m stunned that anyone would argue that Robinson’s game isn’t mistake ridden, and suggest he’s being scapegoated. I find that suggestion a bit bizarre to be honest.
Nonetheless, you did suggest that Robinson was being made a scapegoat -whereas for me, and everyone I speak to, he's just mistake prone, and costing us dearly when he plays. In no way, by my definition, is he being made a scapegoat. You're stunned? I said he did ok and made one particularly important tackle. I didn't say he had a blinder. I'm not denying it, however you seem to be proving my definition, in that I reckon that you and those you speak to are waiting for him to make a mistake and that's what you focus on.... so what would your definition be?Nonetheless, you did suggest that Robinson was being made a scapegoat -whereas for me, and everyone I speak to, he's just mistake prone, and costing us dearly when he plays. So yes, I'm stunned that apparently some people would consider that he is.![]()
And especially when they have had a lengthy period of playing no football at all because of a contract dispute.Or the lack of match sharpness commonly found in Youngsters starting their First team pro careers.
I don't see how I am. He's mistake prone - it was spotted by most and I think I gave him the benefit of the doubt longer than most. Nonetheless, reality bit for me- he just makes too many mistakes, and isn't good enough to rectify them. And, true to form, he made a significant mistake last night that nearly went punished again. His general game was otherwise okay, but once again he confirmed my (most fans?) fears.I'm not denying it, however you seem to be proving my definition, in that I reckon that you and those you speak to are waiting for him to make a mistake and that's what you focus on.... so what would your definition be?
He’d have scored one for themReally ? Didn’t think Robinson took one !
It now seems unbelievable that we'd isolate him due to a contract dispute! Just imagine if it had continued and we'd missed out on himAnd especially when they have had a lengthy period of playing no football at all because of a contract dispute.
I wasn't going to reply again because I realise if I do, this will go on and on and on........I don't see how I am. I don't see how pointing that out makes him a scapegoat in any way at all. I'd say the more reactionary argument would be using the scapegoat tag on those who point it out.
I wasn’t impressed by many last night. I accept that, judging by the responses on here, I’m in a very small minority there.I wasn't going to reply again because I realise if I do, this will go on and on and on........
However, against my better judgment, I've noted that in all your posts on this thread, you haven't said one positive thing about any of the players, never mind poor old 'mistake ridden' Jack Robinson so I retract my statement about you scapegoating anyone and will revise that to say you don't seem to have a good thing to say about any of them.
I'm not sure what you were expecting in a game between our 2nd string and Southampton's - perhaps nothing less than a resounding 5-0 win would have satisfied you?
Anyway I really enjoyed the game and thought that overall it was a brave performance, if nothing else. I hope you enjoyed it too. UTB.
