Please stop starting Lundstram

Lundstram did some nice long, curling passes, thought he was ok to be honest.

Why repeat what I've already written?

but the thread was about lundstram, not 5 or 6, so you were having a go at him more than the others, so i was not repeating what you said, just pointing out lundstram was better than most tonight, if you had preferred i could have been more to the point, and said stop talking out of your arse

Lundstram was average, but so was Coutts and stevens and Brooks and Donaldson, O connell should have scored and so should have Clarke, so a bad day at the office. Lets see how we react on Saturday/

All about opinions innit?

If you followed the match day thread, you'll find I was complimentary to the opposition for doing a job on us and that as a team we were all over the place today.

Also defended Jamal in his personal thread.

You get asked in August before the season starts "would you be ok with 3rd place going into November?"

Answers.............?

To be honest, I was looking forward to seeing how Clarke and Donaldson played together, two big, fast lads, but it didn't work.

If we were able to play our usual style then it could of worked with Clarke holding and Donaldson running the lines, but we went to the long ball pretty earlier. Neither of them are target men so it kinda shat on CW's plans from the off.
It didn't help having to use an early sub either.

Playing the best football of my lifetime.

Just seemed a bizarre day today from the 5th minute on.

He played well when he started against Ipswich.

Now if you want to ask if we should stop starting Donaldson....

yet you think starting a thread about one player just after full time is acceptable, yes its all abaht opinions, there is yours, and then every one else who has pointed out your thread is toss

People seem to have this idea that Lundtsram is some sort of Monty figure tearing around putting tackles in. He's not like that at all. He's composed on the ball and a good passer and here to put pressure on Coutts (who he was better than tonight)

What tonight showed is that we like bite and energy without Fleck. In hindsight Basham should have replaced him

Well I mentioned him in the matchday thread too.

Offered nothing in his last two starts

I think more credit needs to be given to QPR. They never gave us a second, hassled, pressed and were in our faces the whole game. Just very unlucky they scored that freak goal, other than that their shooting was awful. We lost our pattern, with the changes and never really got into any rhythm. Looked better once Sharp and Duffy came on. On to Hull.

He's an acceptable back up for Fleck and Coutts imo. As long as he starts less than 15 games I'll think it's decent business

Who put you in charge of what's acceptable and what's not?

I thought Lundstrum was our best player tonight!
It is not compulsary to have a scapegoat you know?

Obviously Coutts and Fleck have a great understanding.

I think Lundstrum's lack of an understood dynamic (which only comes with time) gets misinterpreted as something fundamental lacking in his department.

I don't think he had a particularly bad game, and I'm pretty confident he'll come good in time.

Wasn’t at the game so can’t comment on performances, but on the subject of midfield I feel that Lundstram is Coutts’ understudy, Carruthers is Duffy’s understudy (and sometimes CW get a bit excited and tries Brooks there behind two strikers which I still think isn’t a good option) but we don’t have someone to stand in for Fleck. Fleck is the best all round footballer we have and it shows when he is missing.

Could this be Whiteman’s place in the squad?

It does seem like we don't function as good if any one of Coutts, Fleck or Duffy are not starting.

Nail on head here and tonight we started without two of them. The understanding between the holy trinity is the foundation of our fluid football and it was clear that was missing tonight. On to Saturday where I’m sure they will be reunited and we will be back to normal. UTB
