We have 5 strikers in total.

How about giving them a chance over the course of a long season and judging them on that rather than the first month of the season.
They're clearly not good enough. Weren't last year, DEFINITELY not good enough now.

We have Billy and then 4 other bodies. That's it.

He's right though the other 10 members of the team always contributed a lot more than whoever the second striker was, be it lavery/Hanson/Leon apart from the last few games when Leon performed but he seems to have gone back to sulking now...

Weren't good enough last year in a team which amassed 100 points?

Stop over reacting.
In League One

Need I remind you what happened to Wigan? Don't give the rest plaudits for mainly what Billy achieved.

Doesn't matter now we've signed one.

Perhaps don't throw your toys out the pram quite so quickly next time then.

If you want to think Billy achieved the 100 points himself last season then go ahead but it does a huge disservice to the contributions of others at the top of the pitch. Of course Billy did great but he was supported well by the other strikers as Wilder himself has said in the past.

Your shit just gets shitter, why not try getting behind the players at the club instead waffling on about stuff you clearly don't have a clue about.
And you're a boring deluded cunt.

If you think we are good enough upfront, bar Sharp possibly bar Donaldson depending on how good he still is you need to get yourself checked out.

You're attributing last year's 100 point haul pretty much entirely to Billy Sharp?

For real?
Strikerwise, none of the others came close to achieving what he did.
Wouldn't say I'm attributing the entirety to him but he deserves the majority of the plaudits.

Did championship manager dictate that to you as well?
Boring deluded cunt, how brave.
Oh god, what a typical retort from someone who hasn't got a clue what they're on about. 'Championship manager'. Oh dear.

I've said many times before that I really think Sharp has a similiar style to Keith Edwards.
What I mean is that he is extremely reliant on his team mates setting him up.

Some strikers can score goals from nothing, Sharp doesn't do that.
Some strikers are quick, so you can get away with knocking the ball into space, can't do that with Sharp as he isn't quick enough.
Some strikers are big units with physicality, so you can put in crosses and they'll score from headers, doesn't apply to Sharp.

I really believe that if a midfield or support striker can set Sharp up with precise passes to his feet
Then more often than not he'll score because he's a great finisher.
Fail to set him up and like Keith Edwards, Sharp can be really ineffective and have very quiet matches.

I'd say the plaudits for last season should go to the midfield trio of Couuts, Fleck and especially Duffy (who often made us tick). Of course scoring is the most difficult task, so respect to Sharp, also a massive quality Sharp has given us is Captains influence. He socialises with some of the players and him and Wilder being fans have made the other players play with 100% commitment as though they are fans of the club too.

You're not allowed to praise Billy on this forum. It's not cool enough.

Change it to Paul Coutts and everybody will vigorously masturbate in agreement.

True. My bad. It's uncool to love Billy.

still dont get all the negativity

its baffling how many of our fans look through the telescope the wrong way

we are playing Sunderland a week on Saturday ,,,,,, not fucking Bury

Sharp was injured at the arse end of last season, it's why his goal rate slowed down. The lad's been relatively lucky with injuries though, I don't think there's much to worry about :)

My guess is that in the Championship more goals come from strikers than Kieron Freeman types. If I'm right we may struggle, particularly if pressurising other teams doesn't result in them assisting in 2 goals a la Derby.

Billy did fantastic lads season and was quite rightly, our main striker.

But laying it all at his door rather ignorantly ignore huge contributions from all over the pitch, the clean sheets, the midfield build up, the supply that lead to his goals.

Nobody is not praising Billy ,anyone who doesn't realise what he does for us is a fool ,why do you get so precious about him ,its not an exclusive admiration. Sharp is a great player ,we also have others.

You can't take anything away from the whole squad for what they achieved last season but if we're being honest, you could substitute any of our supporting strikers for pretty much any other league one striker and the end outcome would have been the same. So I get where the OP is coming from. In my opinion none of them are really good enough for where we want to be.

He's played 2.5 games this season and been suspended for the rest. hardly evidence of sulking?????????

There does seem to be an idea on here that it's cool to worship Coutts. He hasn't been noticeably better than the majority of others in the side. But because he used to be utter wank his performances get over rated.

Clarke, bar the stupid red card, has had a very good start to the season, he's caused defenders all sorts of problems and held the ball up really well. People still seem to love to hate Clarke on here, we saw how good he can be when he gets a proper chance like at the end of last season.
