Definitely not out of reach by any stretch of the imagination. However, for us to have a chance which side(s) will drop out of the top 6 ? I’d be surprised if it was Villa, Derby or Fulham. That leaves Cardiff and Brizzle, if we are to have a chance then it is out of them two. I also think Preston and Boro are in with a shout so for me it is
Wolves
Villa
Derby
Fulham
Cardiff
Boro
PNE
Blades
Brizzle

Fairly certain about top 4. But I’d imagine it’s them five at the bottom battling for two places.

Appreciate the kind words. I don’t think we will be the team who breaks though if I’m being totally honest. Just don’t have that little bit of quality/ spark to turn a game on its head, especially at home. Selling Hugill without getting a proper replacement seems like it could be our undoing ( even though we have won all three games in Jan where he hasn’t featured ). Our next three games are
Brentford ( A)
Wolves (H)
Villa (A)
and in all honesty we could end up 12 points( which would be very unlucky) adrift after that because you could make a case for us losing every one of those. Albeit, it doesn’t pan out like that.

Other than swapping Brentford for PNE, I suspect you have it bang on.

Our next 5 or 6 games look like being pivotal.

I honestly think Brentford are very overrated. They are losing Vibe too. PNE are the team currently in 7th and they have a very favourable run in.

They had a shocking start to the season. They shot up the table in the middle part. Be interesting to see how they finish things off.

On about this yesterday. I think Wolves, Derby, Villa, Fulham and Cardiff are certs for top 6. Leaving one spot up for grabs which, in my opinion, is between us, PNE, Boro, Bristol and Brentford. Probably Boro.

Brentford will make a late charge.

They have the easiest games left of any team in the Championship.

Think you have it spot on. Blades, Bristol C, Boro and Preston are all fighting for 1 spot.

You probably have to add Leeds to that list too. People are saying Leeds are out of it and their chairman clearly thinks so, hence the sacking. However, they're 2pts behind us so if they beat us Saturday, does that mean we're out of it too?

I assume you’re just being sarcastic?

With 16/17 games left to play everyone has just about the same fixtures left. We’ve got 16 games left and we’ve played all of the top 3 twice so if anything we’ve got the easiest run I

I've added position in the form table positions over the last 10 matches including points., pretty grim reading.

2 Derby...............22
1 Fulham............25
11 Cardiff..............14

IF we start winning games,we might gate crash the playoffs, but our current form and team rejuggle says we wont,we are very much like Preston a hoping and praying fingers crossed sort of team now.
Sadly yes!

Completely agree in theory. But Leeds have so many absentees due to injury/ suspensions etc. I know we aren’t in the best of form but we are probably favourites in that one. They also have some pretty grim fixtures coming up, they could feasibly be 12/15 points off the top 6 after them games( honestly look them up they are awfully difficult). It is somewhat complicated slightly with the sacking of their coach however.

I agree with that judgement. Us and Preston are two sides that on their day would be top 6 but probably won’t be consistent enough in the long run so will be hoping things fall their way. I am starting to also put Bristol City in that bracket too, in poor form and their squad is no better than ours or a Preston. Only difference is they are top 6 currently and were very good at the start of the season. If Brizzle are a classed as a hoping side, there are four teams seemingly chasing one spot. Three are ‘hoping sides’, the likelihood is one will make it ( even though I think it will be Boro but still) that very well could still be us if we put a run together.

Based on PPG of future opponents Brentford have the easiest matches remaing.

Sunderland have the most difficult.

Agree with that judgement on us and yourselves.

Got a feeling we will sneak into 6th spot. Villa in the semi with us beating Derby in the final ;)

Ooooooo, aren't you a clever boy?
'Look at me everyone, look at me. Look what I've done. Can I have some likes please'
It's not even in any kind of f******g order!
Well no like from me mate, not for that jumbled f******g mess

Bristol are a funny one, if their league cup hangover continues i think they will be for the taking, at times though they look superb and probably the closest team to us in regards to how we play and quality of personnel

Given our second part of this season I don't think we are going to be contenders.

First half of this season P15=30 points
Second half of season P15=16 points

I think it's probably fair to say Wolves, Derby, Aston Villa, Cardiff and Fulham will be in the top 6 at the end of the season unless there is a huge fall away in form.

I make it then 1 from 4 - Bristol, Preston, Blades, Boro.

Some facts about the remaining fixtures:

Average position of opposition at home:
Blades - 12.375
Bristol - 14.625
Boro - 13
Preston 9.125

Fair to say that the hardest by far in terms of home games is Preston who face Wolves, Bristol, Fulham and Derby.

Average position of opposition away from home:
Blades - 14.25
Bristol - 13.125
Boro - 12.625
Preston 14.375

Away from home it is us and Preston who play more lower half teams.

Games left vs the top 6:
Blades - 3
Bristol - 2
Boro - 4
Preston 5

Looks a tough run in for Preston overall and echoes what the Preston lad said on here the other day.

Interestingly, we play all three of these rivals, Boro and Preston at home and Bristol away.

It could be that either an eventful last day could be upon us or we may be left ruing our attacking nature in the home fixture and not settling for a point.

Plenty to play for and we play nobody in the top three so no reason we need to feel we cannot compete from now until the season ends.

If we can get back to the type of football we were playing at the beginning of the season we can make the top 6. We've proven we're more than a match for anyone - we even beat Wolves comfortably early on - so nothing to fear. But, breaking up that midfield of Coutts, Duffy and Fleck has been the major factor in our downturn in form imo. Nothing we could do about Coutts of course, but I think Duffy is our most creative player and we need to find room for him in the starting line up. Too many changes too soon isn't good and apart from Lee Evans, I'm not sure the other new lads have improved the side so far. Plenty of time for them to do so - and I like the look of Holmes in particular - offers something a bit different - more direct, which is what we need. But Wilson and Leonard...they've not deserved a shirt so far for me.

we need to start showing more constancy in how we play, the results will come and if you look at the top 12 teams all but four teams have hit and miss form over the last five games, only Fulham and Villa, have that killer streak at the moment...

Also if we could have drawn at least 4 or 5 of the 12 loses so far we would still be in the play offs and not worring about slipping further away, when you look down the table as much as I don't like saying it we have actually lost one more than Wednesday :eek: what a horrible Shitty stat that is!

Hopefully for the run in for this part of the season will be a good one, even if we don't get to the playoffs we punched higher that a lot of us thought we would, I am happy with the season and although we are currently on a bit of a downward trajectory, Still shown we can play and that we can fight and play any team in this league with no fear :)

We have on paper a much less arduous fixture list ahead
I donr accept we are the only team liable to post a poor set of results boro and preston and leeds have all been through bad runs
and if Fulham were that good Huddersfield wouldnt be in the prem right now

we are to mind better than preston bristol city and on our day Fulham
We trod all over Derby at home, and I expect us to beat Cardiff who had a 4 game losing streak and I suspect will again

its hard to pin down who will fold , think we can ressurect our hopes if we can finish more of the many chances we make
other teams will feel the pressure and be just as brittle
Bristol looked anything but top 6 at Bolton

lots of twists and turns ahead but if we can get to 76 78 points we should make it

Now everyone is back healthy apart from Coutts, if we start getting good luck instead of bad luck, keep injury free, we could go on a roll and take some stopping.
