Players you hated... and then we signed them

I didn't hate him overall but I remember Stuart McCall being a right prick at the Lane a season or so before we signed him. I seem to remember he got a fairly early booking and should have had a second on about six separate occasions.

He was refereeing the game like Teddy Sherringham did when he played for West Ham.

Never very keen on Vinnie Jones but warmed to him a little. Wouldn't say I ever hated him though

It was easy to tell his quality right off the bat. Could be a bit of a mardy fucker though, but that made me love him all the more. Loved how he wore gloves, even before the clocks went back 🤣

Was good to see him at the Bash charity game and is a just a really nice guy too

Vinny Jones was class of the field he gave me and my mates 4 free tickets for Luton away when away fans were banned after Millwall rioted there Blades won 1 nil Deano scored.

I've got one the other way round if I may suggest Kieffer Moore. Thought he was a really good signing who'd be an upgrade on McBurnie last summer. But he wasn't aggressive enough, not that great in the air, nowt special at all Then there's Wembley. It's not even the pass to Watson which was bad enough. It's the terrible decision making to not pass to Campbell in space to almost certainly score and then go 2 up. At 32 he should have known better.

Then leaves to go to Hollywood FC, although I blame Selles more for that. Not a fan to say the least of Moore.

As for the Op. I have it on record on here that Madine, Bamford and Clarke were all players I was delighted to sign and I never massively disliked any of them to be fair. Most players I've really not liked have never signed for us to be honest. Chris Waddle and Steven Gerrard would spring to mind!

Bobby Davison didn't take long to win me over either.

As a kid I used to hate Ian Rush, Liverpool constantly won everything and on the rare occasion it seemed like they might not, Rush would dig them out of a hole. Then he signed for Leeds.

So hated him before he signed, hated him for the brief time he was here. Still don't like him 🤣

Madine was infamous for fighting blades.

Played a small part in a promotion that has changed the club for half a decade so I'll forgive him.

Leon Clarke. Always felt like one of those ex pigs who would always score against us. Became a tip striker for a short a and scored two at the sty

Jefferson Cáceres By far couldn’t stand his antics whilst I watched the Peruvian divisions and after a well thought through scouting mission, I couldn’t believe we had scouts out to Peru! 🤪🤣🧐

Alan Quinn.

Not hate but he was a good player for Wednesday and took piss at the Lane before we came back to win 3-1.

Outstanding for United when him and Geary came over, two proper Blades.
