Jordan Archer's performance for Scotland last night made me feel exasperated that he puts in a shocker there but every single time he plays against us he puts in an absolute stormer.

I'm sure there are many others that people can name, perhaps should rephrase the OP to 'players who save their best games against us' so as to include the likes of Kevin Phillips, Steve Morison, Kevin Lisbie etc

(Over last season so many players scored their goal of the season against us as well)

Lucas Joao.

The Subhuman S6 filth don't rate him cos they're busy sucking Forestieri's pisser even though he hates them, but he took his goal well against us and was easily their star performer in their 0-0 win at the Lane. I rate him personally.

Thinking the same. They're looking to offload him apparently and he could give us an option upfront. A cheeky bid with Ched as px perhaps?

I'd go for that, they'll come out with the 'Wednesday reject' taunts then he'll rifle one past them and make them look foolish as per.

Pre Season before last, I went to the Pigs vs Benfica friendly (in Benfica mode obviously). To be fair to Forestfairy, he gave Luisao (a quality defender) a torrid time all night, but Joao was very good. Big, powerful, and pace to burn.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, Kevin Drinkell (Norwich, Grimsby) and Marco Gabbiadini (Sunderland, Derby) always scored against us.

I think Drinkell got something daft like 12 goals against us. It got so bad that I remember being really pleased before the Grimsby game in September 1984 when Drinkell was injured and Gary Lund took his place. Of course, Lund scored a hattrick and we lost 3-2...

Stewart Evans was rejected by United and scored against us for 3 different teams (Wimbledon, Plymouth and West Brom) in the next 5 years. In each case we lost the game in question by one goal.

Bloody hell, I just started typing exactly the same two players name's and then I saw your response.

I was going to add Andy Morris to the list too.

Gallagher x 2
Kevin for Blackburn and Paul for Preston.

Peter Withe
Crap for us but while still our player on loan to Brum, had a stormer and of course scored.

Curranpig
Two great games for the Filth in 79/80 and then amazingly signed by us. Quite rightly he was never given a chance by our fans ('Only in S2') but looked like he'd never seen a football.

Mark Ward for The Shammers

Scored 6 goals against us in 1989-90 and 1990-1: 2 for West Ham at the Lane, then 2 for Man City at Maine Road and (3 days later) 2 more at the lane for them in the Zenith Cup. We lost all 3 games 2-0.

Was strongly critical of Bassett style football and always played well against us. Later jailed 8 years for drug smuggling. Don't criticise Dave Bassett.

It felt like Marlon harewood scored against us a lot and also Matty fryatt!!! However I haven't checked stats on either so I could be completely wrong. Could all be a myth in my head

To be honest, Paul McGrath was a superb defender, but as a 25 year old I'd have given him the runaround too.

Luisao is about 70.

Yes he is on the old side, but up until this season, still pretty decent. I think the end is nigh though. Benfica have underachieved by their standards and their board love a sacrificial Lamb. Him or Rui Vitoria, maybe both will go.

Don't think they've really got over selling Ederson either if I'm honest.

That Steve Kabba performance, with all sides of ground clapping him off. Did he ever played against us any other time?

As magic said earlier ,pressman always played well against us, a great memory I have is him jogging towards the leppings lane end and all the blades shouting "you fat bastard" he looked down at his shirt and looked up at us and laughed, great credit to him, easy to pretend he hadn't heard (fuckin Impossible) always liked him but by fuck he saved his best for us, the fat bastard!
