1979 - Ian Benjamin to WBA
1983 - Alan Young to Notts County (we got all the money back for an injury prone player)
1999 - Olivier Tebily to Celtic
1999 - Lee Morris to Derby (I liked him but he never was the same player when he got the injury when playing for us
2001 - Wayne Quinn to Newcastle
2016 - Che Adams to Birmingham

Any more?

Ade Akinbyi after we'd spent all that cash on him

And who was the defender with the razor blades?

Him.

I don't want to derail the thread, but this list will grow to about 10 to 20 names over the last few decades.

Someone will start one about how we undersell players and that will grow to about 10 to 20 names over the last few decades.

We should do a list about appalling and resource sapping signings, and we'd be into the hundreds in only a few seasons.

You could use Clough alone to create a list that would be bigger than the others.

I'm sure that fan anger is continually misdirected.

My dad said Alan Birchenall wasnt even half as good as Mick Jones but we sold him for the same fee (I believe at the time there were only 4 or 5 players that were sold for at least £100K- Denis Law and Alan Ball were the others)

Be interested to see a list of players we've sold over the last 20 years. Not every sale, just the ones which caused upset amongst fans.

Problem here is Silent you cannot yet say whether Adams is over valued. He bangs in 20 goals next season and suddenly we look daft.

Agana to Notts County. DB knew what he was doing there.

Borbokis never gave Derby value for money either.

Only Tonge (I liked him but he had lost his magic by the time we sold him), Davis, Slew, Blackman and Adams that I can think of since 2007

Andy Gray to Sunderland for what was it? £1.1M?

I would rather sell an inconsistent player whose heart doesnt seem to be at the club and bring in players that we need rather than keep him and not bring anyone in
