What happened to the players we had on trial last week? Said a decision would be made by friday, yet i didn't hear anything about it.

Generally, you'll only hear about trial players if they are taken on. If you've heard nowt before the end of the week. Assume they were told, 'thanks, but no thanks!'

I'd have thought the squad was pretty much there now. If anything, we're lacking cover for central defence but if young Master Chanot is being sent out with a view to seeing how he can cope and the success of Naughton, we might look more towards utilising the youngsters instead of paying more in wages to take trialists on. Same with Roberston, are we sending him out for the move or to let another team take the risk of blooding him before bringing him back to the squad?

Nicky Law must also be knocking on the door for at least a place in the squad following an apparently impressive midfield performance the other night at Lincoln.

Yeah i was saying Saturday that Law should be on the bench really. Seems a much better option than Spring.

I thought that the two spanish lads werent expected until today? unless i heard wrong

The problem with Law is that he seems to drift in and out of the game a little. To do a role like Spring's or indeed Howard if we're looking at the first team, you need to be switched on all the time both going forward and defending. Going forward he seems to enjoy, defending he doesn't. Spring at least will offer both.

Dunno if this is old news but

Former Barcelona midfielder Gerard is chasing a MLS contract.

The Spain international is a free agent after leaving Recreativo Huelva at the end of last season and has been offered terms by English Championship club Sheffield United.

However, Gerard would prefer to continue his career in the USA and is waiting for offers from interested MLS clubs.
