Despite 4 seasons of total league crud,changing the manager hasn't shifted our fortunes.
Any management team out there couldn't turn our inept set of powder puff Wankers into league top two contenders.
No leadership quality in the squad whatsoever,no one to stand up and take some fuckin responsibility to motivate.
The defence is the worst since relegation.
But in phipps we trust?really? The biggest smokescreen utd could hope for?-A yank who wants to be every blades bestest friend.
I really don't see where we are going at the minute. Teams like Burton, Gillingham, Coventry are taking teams to piece's and we are no where near doing that.
Back them as much as you want through those rose tinted glasses. We all want them to succeed, but christ we are crap.

Painfully, we should accept that getting anything from this season is a bonus. We should have a huge clearout in the summer, and hope for it next season.

It's awful to accept another season here, but it's becoming crystal clear that too many of our players are in the division they deserve to be, and some a bit higher.

I have 100% faith in Nigel Adkins, I have zero faith in the team. Apart from Billy Sharp, I see zero passion and a bunch of players who are picking up a very good wage for not much effort.

I think it would be a big statement if we did pay a few up....know that would mean us basically paying up contracts for 3 or 4 till end of season but it might send a statement to some others.

Likes of Wallace, McEveley, Cuvelier would be 3 that could go for me now.

Well Clough took over from Weir's crock of shit..etc etc..the thing that's obviously most puzzling is the CB issue...Adkins tried to address it with Edgar, who seemed perfect up to the international break then Sunday league after., we're still playing Collins( no disrespect to the bloke cause he's doing a job) but he was on his uppers years ago!..this loan business with Hammond is beyond s joke now...even for SUFC.

But there is a world of difference in building a 2nd division team with the extra income and a 3rd division team without the capital input of promotion.

Don't forget those 3rd division players wil have to be on 2/3 year contracts to attract them.

We have 30 odd in the squad and maybe 4 are nailed on promotion standard

I'd say 10 more are potentially good enough but inconsistent

10 aren't good enough and need binning off

It's a pity that we can't sack a few for lack of effort. Out the door you go with no pay and a poor reference. But that won't be the case will it. Why should we reward poor players with a lump sum when they will be out of contract at the end of the season? As things stand, we are at least only paying their wages every week. The total cost to pay them up would be considerable, leaving less money to sign new players. Or we may go ahead with the players remaining.
IMO if a player is so disinterested ,he should be put on the transfer list, I know -- who want them, and put on shopping duty at Meadow Hell five days a week. They might then realise what a privileged bunch of toss pots they are.
