Straight shoot out between Fleck and Wright for me, Fleck's brought bite and ability to the midfield, Wright's brought leadership and a calmness to the defence, I'd go Wright purely on the fact we still haven't lost with him in the side!

All of 'em......Moore has been superb, EEL, O'Connell, Coutts, Fleck.....all have contributed massively....Freeman has surprised a lot and has largely been solid plus a goal threat going forward....Scouggs is coming into the fold nicely....Bash has been Bash, reliable and doesn't do much wrong....Duffy has added the creative spark......Billy continues to bang them in.

Done concerns me and although you can't knock his workrate he has not scored enough goals, I expect Lavery, Chapman or even Clarke to start ahead of him as the season unfolds to take a bit of pressure off Billy.

Half-term report is a healthy B+

Few of the regular starters have been less than impressive however, I could happily pick half of the team.

What, and Tufty pick the other half? It's a novel idea, mate, but I can see problems in practice. How would we know which of you to boo the first time a player makes a mistake? Perhaps they could have either "Tufty" or "Stretch" in brackets after the names on their shirts?

It's worth a try.

Sounds like a plan :D

Coutts, consistently putting in great performances, some of others have done really well - better than him maybe for a series of games but he's the constant

Fleck, EEL and Moore for me - in that order. I think every player the manager has signed has something good to offer, which is a real rarity with SUFC.

When I look through our team now there's barely one player I don't like, in terms of ability and character. It is indeed very strange, and a massive contrast to last season.

Exactly. Even people who think Hussey's beena bad signing (he's probably our most unpopular signing) would have to admit he's got a great left foot and takes a good set piece. He has a number of assists which attest to this, both in pre season and proper games. Another good mark of improved signings, is my belief that we could move them all on fairly easily if we wanted to. No payoffs.
