Player new contracts

Think he's telling them not to end up at Stoke on the bench.
If they have sense they will sign and get, maybe not the highest wages but I'm betting with bonus's etc they will be very comfy, and in a squad so loved it looks like Billy is turning down champions league with Celtic and big money with others.
They know it makes sense to stay, if it's footballing reasons.
 
Think wilder needs to assess this a little differently.. this is a completely different situation to the likes of Duffy he’s at the end of his career and not played a single PL minute, and now he won’t.. Fleck on the other hand is showing he can play at this level with comfort, and whilst I’m pretty certain he wants to stay he has every right to be asking the question about a much improved contract.. in the grand scheme of things our boys are vastly underpaid as much as I hate to say that a person on 10s of thousands a week is under paid
 
I think lundstrams decision will be getting easier given the performances of late. I'd even lower the offer to put pressure on. Fleck I'm worried about.

Think it was mainly at Lunny to be honest. His contract talks have been ongoing for ages, Fleck has more recently started discussing it.

And Fleck is not in his last 6 months, so their isn't a big rush from the club's perspective.

Didn't Wilder say during the week that we've activated Lundstrams extra year?
 
Think it was aimed at lunstram. Would nt suprise to see him dropped for citeh. With every performance getting worse he is fading out of wilder plans and could likely have got a much better deal a month ago. Championship beckons.
 
Yep completely agree. If we lost lunny I wouldn't be devastated, especially with his recent performances. Fleck on the other hand is concerning albeit he's got a chunk left on his contract.

We maybe sit in the top half of the table but nothing proven yet.We have a wage structure ! we wont brake it for any individual and rightly so.
Any player who tries to break it will be unlucky I dont think we have any Billy big bollox in the squad, it's the agents who try to push and push..
Everything moves in tandom if we cement our place in premiership players will be rewarded.Lets not get ahead of ourselves.
We are having a great first season that's all it is so far..We have a lot to prove as a team.

You are right about rewarding players when we are safe but then why would players sign contracts now? Probably why they’re are dragging their heels
 
The wages were always going to be an issue and this has only been made worse by our lofty league position, we know we don’t pay top 6 wages ..

As for fleck, pay him what mcburnies getting, he’s earned that for what he’s done for the club over the years.

Duffy’s name gets mentioned as a word of warning, but his situation was completely different to the majority of our squad.

If Duffy was 28 or even 30, he would’ve stay, but at 34 and a family to support after football he clearly had to try and maximise his earning. It didn’t work out for him, but time wasn’t on his side so he had to try. The rest of the squad have more time on their side and don’t need to rush into anything or force the issue.

"Had to try" makes it sound like he was living in poverty.

He won’t be living in poverty but he won’t have enough money to live off for the rest of his life. Until he moved to Birmingham in 2014, his football earning would’ve been modest. Even when he sign he us, he still started on a League One contract.

An extra year or two at a high level on a decent contract could make a huge difference to him and his family’s lifestyle over the next 10 or 20 years.

He was asked about Fleck and then referred to him as John, but then also seemed to deflect away from Fleck when he said "its not just john..."

Disagree....they’ve only just arrived on the PL scene....they deserve an increase but no one has proven they are PL standard yet.
Lets see how they perform 2nd half....a few weeks ago Lunny looked an asset at PL level....now he’s slowly returning to looking ordinary.
Fleck scores a few and he’s great....if he goes a few weeks without scoring then he’ll be average again...like parts of last season.

If our players are so good then you would expect 20 to 30 million offers this Summer....the truth is they’ll be no interest from any club.
I agree with Wilders attitude test..... if a player‘s main motivation is money they are free to leave.
We want motivated players who want to join the journey.....suspect Wilder will already be sounding out replacements.
