Is it staying the same this year? Worked a treat last season and we still managed to play expansively. Or have we widened it again?

Oh fuck. Now you've done it. Keep this on the QT but it gets narrower every year to reduce the payments. Wilder wants another 10 yards width but McScrooge says we only got enough from the Murphy sale for a kiddies sized one.
Now keep schtum.

Not really a fan of these little modern intricacies and I really don't think they have much of an impact. It's the same for both teams. If you're a good side, better than the opposition, you'll beat them - whatever the dimensions or quality of the pitch.

I would agree with that but Wilder must have done it last year for a reason, just wonder if the same logic applies this time around?

Be reyt, once the Walker money kicks in we'll be the closest fans to the pitch anywhere in the world ;)

Not so.
Man Citeh enjoyed their halcyon days at Maine Rd in the 1970s when the pitch was miles wide. Summerbee in particular benefitting.
All managers set their home pitch up to suit the way they play and maximise the advantage.

Not sure the size makes too much difference but the quality certainly does.

Imagine our style of football on Oldhams pitch every other week, yes you play away matches but you play 23 home games a season.

Wasn't it Warnock who narrowed it so that we could go more direct with a hoofing game and be less at risk from being stretched wide by opposing wingers?

Looks right to me, any one know why the net is blue though?
