The Club has advised that the Bramall Lane end at the Sheffield United stadium consists of an upper tier with a capacity of some 4,300 spectators and a lower tier with a capacity of some 3000 spectators.
During pre-match discussions and planning with the South Yorkshire Police, they specifically stated that they would prefer Sheffield Wednesday to receive the lower tier only. Given the belief that the Club would be able to sell the vast majority of the remaining seats to Sheffield United supporters, Sheffield United agreed with their request.
The Club's Safety Officer asked to keep the front two rows of seating in the upper tier completely sterile and to keep a section of seating in the John Street stand similarly sterile to assist with segregation issues. The Club also reserved a large section of seating in an adjacent section of the South Stand for Club employees to additionally help.

The additional resources were deployed around the 'away' end of the ground to assist at segregation points and no less that 25 stewards were deployed across the front of the two sets of supporters to deter any interaction between the two groups.
Ticket sales from the Sheffield United Ticket Office was on the basis that prospective purchasers were recorded on the Club's database. It can only be assumed that any Sheffield Wednesday supporter purchasing a ticket for a home area was assisted to do so by a Sheffield United supporter who was recorded on the Club's database.
The arrangements for vistiing supporters must satisfy the requirements of the safety advisory group and the local authority responsible for issuing the safety certiciate, whichout which, supporters cannot be admitted to the ground.
